GT5's Red Bull X1 prototype turned into a real life thing, for show...

While Gran Turismo 5 is yet to out, Polyphony seemed to want to tease the fans again. Last time they teamed up with Citroen, and this time its Red Bull’s turn. The latest collaboration brought the recently-crowned world champion Red Bull Racing team on board for the X1 prototype. Again, an extreme high-performance vehicle designed specifically for the game – this time a vision of what an F1 car could be if not for all the pesky regulations. Initial reports that the car is powered by a turbine engine are now being corrected to an F1-derived, direct-injection, twin-turbo V6. Fortunately, the 1483-horsepower output remains. But then all these are still on the paper, and in the game. The prototype is a full-size mock-up that will be unveiled during the game’s launch party, scheduled for Madrid in a few weeks’ time.

Gran Turismo 6 already in development

Well, the Gran Turismo 4 took four years to develop. Sadly we still don’t dare to say how long the Gran Turismo 5 will take, even though it’s coming very very soon. Have to wait until the real thing’s out you know… Quite possibly the most highly-anticipated driving game ever released as of late, we’ve been waiting on it for years, with only a couple of updates (like the PS3-ized GT4 HD and the GT5 Prologue) and a constant stream of conjecture and teased images to keep fans glued to the game instead of drifting away to some others. While Sony and Polyphony make fun of us with the release date of GT5, reports are already looking further down the road. Read more…

An iPod Dock that will cost you more than a grand

The Aston Martin DBS comes with an optional Bang & Olufsen car audio system with 13 speakers. It’s marvellous. But if you can’t afford an Aston, you can still have the Bang & Olufsen in your living room. Then again, it itself would not be cheap to attain too. It took them quite some time to whip out a nice audio system with support for iPod. Though quite late, the BeoSound 8 will still sing handsomely to you, but with a hefty price. Read more…

Airbus A380 engine not safe?

Well, it looks like the Airbus A380 is not having a sweet cruise. Last week, a Qantas Airbus A380 had to make an emergency landing in Singapore, after one of its engine exploded. The engine is a Rolls-Royce Trent 900, and Rolls-Royce has admitted there’s a problem with it.

After this incident, Qantas has stopped operations of its A380 fleet for two weeks, while Singapore Airlines pulled all the Trent 900s from three A380s, and Lufthansa has changed one engine from one of its planes. Read more…

Microsoft To Drop A New Wireless Mouse in Japan

Here comes another new mouse from Microsoft, but this time there’s no fancy touches or Blue-track. Just a typical wireless optical mouse, but it’s going to feature a very tiny USB receiver, much like Logitech’s solution. Dubbed the “Wireless Mobile Mouse 1000”, it’s for the Japanese market. Powered by an AA battery, this compact mouse comes in a 3-button design and features a 2.4GHz radio frequency (works up to 5 meters). The Wireless Mobile Mouse 1000 will become available in Japan from November 19th for 1,700 Yen (about $21)
