Here comes yet another wacky watch from Tokyoflash, which always entice us with very cool concept watches, though some hardly can be used as it takes year to read the time. The latest is called the Kisai RPM, which is the first concept to become reality from the Tokyoflash Design Studio Blog and is based on an idea submitted by a Tokyoflash fan from the UK, James Fursedon.

Here comes another all-in-one computer from Acer, this time boasting a 21.5-inch display. The new Acer Az3750-A34D is the latest from Acer, and the screen comes with a 5ms response rate, a 300cd/m2 brightness level, and 1920 x 1080 Full HD resolution to play all your Full HD contents. The all-in-one solution is powered by a 3.2GHz Intel Core i3-550 processor, with memory of up to 8GB of DDR3-1333MHz SDRAM. The hard disk is a 500GB 7200rpm SATA drive, with memory card slot and DVD Super multi drive at the side of the computer. Standard connectivity comes with IEEE802.11b/g/n and Gigabit Ethernet. HP’s monitor has always been very smart looking and comes with decent features and performance. The new HP 2010i 20-inch widescreen monitor is no exception. This sleek LCD display has a two-lamp panel that helps lower down power consumption during operation, and provides a screen ratio of 16:9 with 1600 x 900 pixel resolution. That’s not Full HD resolution, but still capable of playing some 720P contents, so it’s essentially a HD-Ready monitor. The panel has a 5ms response time, 250nits brightness, and a 15,000:1 dynamic contrast ratio. Additional features include built-in speakers, a VGA port and a DVI-D (with HDCP) port.

This is probably to have some decent ring fight with Western Digital’s Green series hard disk; Seagate is introducing a new range of eco-friendly internal HDDs called the Barracuda Green. Coming in sizes up to 2TB, these new breed of energy efficient HDDs are equipped with a SATA 3.0 (up to 6.0 Gbps) interface, a 64MB of cache memory, a very odd 5,900RPM spindle speed and consume just 5.8W of power during normal operation and an average idle power of only 4.5W. This would be the perfect drive if you need your computer to run 24hours every day.

AOC has introduced a new 19-inch affordable LCD monitor, called the AOC 931SWL. Priced at just USD 99, this is essentially an 18.5-inch TN panel monitor with 1366 x 768 resolutions, so it does not display Full HD resolutions, despite having 16:9 widescreen aspect ratios. The monitor does however come with some decent quality, with 5ms response time, a 10,000:1 dynamic contrast ratio, and 200 cd/m2 brightness, though I won’t say that’s very good. Usually I’d prefer monitors with 300 cd/m2 brightness for gaming and movie watching. The monitor comes with 15-pin D-Sub connectivity, so you still don’t get DVI connectivity with such budget price.

USB3.0 is starting to go mainstream these days with decent price, although the prices aren’t anywhere near the price of USB2.0 yet. Buffalo is set to drop yet another new line of USB3.0 handy drive, dubbed the ‘RUF3-SS’ for the Japanese market.
Coming in capacities ranging from 8GB to 64GB, these drives feature a USB 3.0/2.0 connection interface and promise to deliver transfer speeds of up to 71MB/s. The RUF3-SS USB 3.0 flash drives will become available in Japan early next month for $33.2 (8GB), $59.5 (16GB), $113.3 (32GB) and $212.8 (64GB), respectively. Sadly there’s no news on when they’ll be available worldwide.

Here’s another high quality monitor from the Korean electronics giant LG. They’ve launched a new 23-inch IPS LCD monitor which can be used as a computer monitor or TV. This IPS panel features 240Hz, which means refresh rate of 240 frames per second. Totally pawns Alienware’s 100Hz monitor and would be awesome for some action pack gaming and HD movies, as this lightning fast refresh rate significantly reduces motion blur to make it less strenuous on the viewer’s eyes and deliver true-to-life images.
This is the first time that the 240Hz technology was applied in a 23-inch product under mass production. The full HD 23-inch 240Hz LCD panel combines the 120Hz technology (refreshes 120 images per second) with the scanning backlight technology, which enable a backlight to be repeatedly turned on and off. Additionally, the use of IPS (In-Plane Switching) technology panel helps reduce distortion in colour or images from any viewing angle, which makes products ideal for TVs.

NEC is also venturing into the Android tablet by introducing the ‘Smartia’ in Japan, which will be launching next month. It’s pretty much the consumer-oriented version of its LifeTouch ‘cloud communicator’. Spec wise, the 7-inch tablet has a resistive touchscreen display with 800 x 480 resolutions and is armed with a 600MHz ARM Cortex-A8 processor. There’s a 384MB RAM, a 1GB internal memory, SD/SDHC card slot, a 3.0-Megapixel camera, integrated GPS, and accelerometer sensor. Connectivity comes standard with WiFi and Bluetooth. This tablet is powered by the Éclair, which is the Android 2.1 operating system. NEC didn’t mention anything regarding updates to Froyo (Android 2.2). Not a wise move actually, considering Froyo has been around for quite some time and Gingerbread is just around the corner. The Smartia will become available in Japan from December 6th for around $510 via Japan’s ISP Biglobe.

Digital photo frames are getting into the trend these days. You get to choose from a huge range of photos and show off them at your living room or your bedroom, whereas with the traditional ones you’re stuck to only one photo. Great stuff to have, really. Viewsonic has launched a new digital photo frame called the VFD1027w-11. It’s a 10.2-inch digital photo frame which stores your digital photos easily thanks to a 128MB of internal memory.
The gadget comes in a beautiful ebony frame that complements any home or office decor. The ultra-high 1024×600 resolution screen shows your photos in brilliant detail. It’s easy to load photos using the USB port or your SD, MMC, or MS memory card. The clock and calendar functions also keep you on schedule, while still showing your favorite photos. The ViewSonic VFD1027w-11 is now available via Ipmart.

All these while, Gigabyte’s motherboards are quite the gay ones, spotting blue and white colored PCB for every motherboard that they sell. But they managed to break into the somewhat ‘elite’ look group by introducing two high-end socket LGA1155 motherboards with black PCBs. That’s the upcoming P67A-UD5 and P67A-UD7 which you’ll see soon when Intel officially launches the Sandy Bridge platform. But now, there’s Gigabyte stated that they’ll be venturing into Asus’s Republic of Gamers crowd with their very own brand of high-end motherboards for enthusiasts and gamers. Read more…
