Tony Stark’s Pinball Machine

Pinball machine! They’re the antique of arcade gaming, something my parents would play before the arrival of Pac-man. But I bet nearly all of current generations never touched them before, the real thing I mean. Yes, we’ve played the Pinball game in Windows before, but the digital version would never be the same compared to the real deal. Now here comes the real deal, with a new theme! Read more…

Cheap second hand Blackberry phones coming? Hell yeah I love that!

Cheap second hand Blackberry phones coming? Hell yeah I love that!

Will we see the fall of Blackberry caused by Windows Phone 7? Well, at least a few corporates will be ditching the Blackberry phones, and some might even follow the bench. That should give quite some drop in Blackberry’s sales and domination of the corporate level.

Microsoft gave out over 90,000 Windows Phone 7 phones to its staff during July of this year, and now we have Dell following their footsteps. Well, there’s nothing wrong with that, since it’s their own product, and they should support their own products.

The Wall Street Journal reports that Dell has revealed plans to move its 25,000 employees over to its own line of smartphones, giving them all Windows Phone 7-equipped Venue Pros in exchange for handing in their BlackBerrys.

Gran Turismo 5 gets an official date, finally?

And this time, it’s from Sony directly. Sony’s official website is citing a 30th November release, for North America at least. Sources cited that the date is still unconfirmed, regardless of Kazunori Yamauchi saying that discs were already in production, and the title was being prepared for release (though there’s no mention of when they actually start production). It is difficult to say what Sony’s plan for GT5 will be, but the sources indicate that Sony wants this product out for the holiday season and is tired of taking a beating over all of the delays. Well, I guess even Sony will get tired of all the drama.

Nvidia previews the GTX 580, it’s the fastest yo!

Well, AMD has released their Bart series cards (the HD6870 and HD6850) and they sure pawn. But Nvidia surely won’t sit quietly and let them have their own way, since Cayman (the HD6970) is just around the corner. During the PDX LAN event, Nvidia’s Tom Petersen previewed the upcoming GTX 580 card, and even demoed it, albeit on an Nvidia-developed demo app, on the Alien vs. Triangles tech demo app. Read more…

Turn your iPhone into a gamepad!

Turn your iPhone into a gamepad!

Yes, we know that your iPhone is awesome as a mobile and compact gaming device, but don’t you think it’s short of some buttons? A gamepad is not what it is without the buttons! The buttons! You need them!

And you’ll have to thank the Japanese for this new stuff. The Tactile+Plus is a set of translucent nubs you stick right on your capacitive touchscreen to get a tactile feel for your game. ¥630 (about $7.75) buys you two packs of the screen protector bubbles and directional pad equivalents, which Japanese publication Impress Watch says work well enough in Street Fighter that they could keep playing without looking down at the screen. But it won’t be a perfect fit for some other games though.

Both will come in $499, or $99 with a two-year contract.

New Palm devices under development?

Yes, the Palm Pre 2 has been launched only recently, but the team in Palm sure didn’t only undergo that project when they develop the WebOS 2.0. Homebrew hub WebOS Internals spent last week digging through SFR’s webOS 2.0 build for the Palm Pre 2, and surfaced with the names Broadway, Windsor, Mantaray and Stingray, as well as the Roadrunner. More telling, these five codenames appeared in a string designed to display the message “temporarily not restoring logs for newer devices,” which means these projects are rather new in the company.

Toyota pays tribute to the one and only master

Meet Hiromu Naruse. Well, technically you can’t meet him anymore, as he’s already in nirvana. This guy however, is a legend when he was alive. He’s the master test driver for Toyota, and is the man that had a hand in nearly every single magnificent sports car ever to come out from the Japanese’s stable.

He’s said to have logged more hours on the Nürburgring than any other Japanese driver, and thus nicknamed the “Nur Miester” at Toyota. That would mean “one and only master”. Friends at Ferrari would refer to him as “the man who knows all the world’s roads”. As a test driver, he’s job is to drive those sports cars before anyone in the world can buy them. But when he’s not doing that, he’s also driving because he simply loves to. Read more…
