Fancy a stringless guitar?

Everything needs touchscreen these days, but this touchscreen phenomenal has gotten into the wrong place: a guitar. Here’s the Misa Kitara Digital Stringless. Yes, it’s stringless, so it’s digital. This futuristic guitar has an innovative multifunction touchscreen, with MIDI controls and an on-board polyphonic synthesizer with effects, thus allowing guitarists to fully express their musical vision.

Instead of using strings, guitarists control sound through their fingertips, using the touchscreen and fret board to play, enhance and alter sounds in real-time. Surprisingly there’s even an OS in this guitar. Powered by a Linux OS, the Kitara digital guitar also has a 1.25-inch audio output, a 3.5-mm headphone out and comes with 100+ digital sounds, 6 pre-loaded effects, 24 frets and 144 notes. The Kitara packs a body of high-density injection-molded ABS polymer, while the Kitara Limited Edition features a precision-etched body of solid aluminum and elegantly serialized for authenticity. The Kitara and Kitara Limited Edition are priced at $849 and $2,899, respectively.
