10-inch iPad, or a 7-inch Android tablet? Nah, these days we play around with 14-inch tablets. That’s just the best size for tablets on your thighs, though the weight also cannot be justified. Kno is reportedly boxing a few Kno single-screen and double-screen tablets up for shipping to those early pre-orders. But if you think you can get them right now for the Christmas time, then you might not like this news. You still have to receive an “invitation” and complete a “request for purchase” form on its website. Dual-screen tablets just ain’t for everyone.
Coming in both 16GB and 32GB models, the tablet sports two 14.1-inch 1400 x 900 capacitive touchscreen displays, a NVIDIA Tegra T200 processor, WiFi, Bluetooth, a 6-hour battery and runs on Linux OS. The 16GB and 32GB models are priced at $899 and $999, respectively.
These days we see quite a number of manufacturers going the retro method of designing their products, by applying some vintage designs, themes, and colouring to make them look cool. But what if the product is really made of retro materials? Well you can’t really say that wood is a classic item. However they do look vintage when the product is made of real wood.
Made of wooden and 100% handicraft products, the Motz Tiny Wooden Power Speaker from Pyramid Distribution features a built-in FM tuner, a USB connector for charging, an SD memory card slot to load MP3 songs into it and a 3.5mm audio jack. The speaker even has holes and buttons like classic radios. There’s also a built-in antenna to give you that classic shape and feel of an old fashioned radio. The gadget is powered by an internal Lithium-ion battery that provides up to 10-hour of listening time. The Motz Tiny Wooden Power Speaker retails for $59.99, but I’m not so sure whether they’re worth it, since they’re so small.
Aluratek is back, and this time with a trio of audio speakers dubbed the “Bump”. Following latest trends, the speakers are equipped with wireless capabilities and some new features. Let’s meet them all. Read more…
Smartfish is not a common brand when you scout for mouse, but they do sell some decent mouse at times. Not the most creative name out there, and resembling Playfish, but the company is still churning out some really nice mouse with affordable price. The latest is the wireless “Whirl Mini” which can be bought at their online store.
It features ambidextrous design, and has a 2.4GHz radio frequency; a 1600 dpi laser sensor which I think is unnecessary, but still very much welcome. The good news is that it also comes with a travel-friendly tiny USB receiver, like those Logitech micro USB receivers. Surprisingly, this little mouse also adopts the patented ErgoMotion pivot technology for improved comfort.
The mouse is available in six colors and retails for $49.95.
Call of Duty: Black Ops has already been breaking records by racking in $360 million on sales of its 5.6 million units on the first day, what Activision called “the biggest entertainment launch ever”. But the game itself is not satisfied by that. Some say that Modern Warfare is better in gameplay, but others disagree. Then again, we all have to agree that the title is selling like crazy. How crazy? How about 8.4 million unit sold in the month of November. That’s 25-percent of all game software sales of last month!
Activision today announced that the latest installment in the popular franchise crossed the $1 billion USD mark in sales worldwide. The game publisher also reported that more then 600 million hours have been logged by gamers who have flocked to the Call of Duty: Black Ops.
Activision Publishing CEO Eric Hirshberg was especially impressed with the hours logged, stating, “Even more remarkable than the number of units sold is the number of hours people are playing the game together online which are unprecedented. Call of Duty is more than a game, it’s a true community.
“In all of entertainment, only Call of Duty and “Avatar” have ever achieved the billion dollar revenue milestone this quickly,” said Activision Blizzard CEO Bobby Kotick. “This is a tribute to the global appeal of the Call of Duty franchise, the exceptional talent at Treyarch and the hundreds of extraordinary people across our many Call of Duty studios including Infinity Ward and Sledgehammer that work tirelessly on the franchise.
The year’s coming to an end, and Adobe has obviously been under the light for some very fun Flash drama, but that seemed to be a good thing for the company to say the least. The company has just posted its first-ever quarter with a billion dollars in revenue, which is good for a $268.9 million profit. Unfortunately there’s no granular data on how Flash is faring in the market — it’s lumped into the Creative Solutions group with the rest of the Creative Suite products, but with big wins on Android in the past year and a huge win on the Air-based BlackBerry Playbook coming next year, things might be even better for the company, despite whatever Steve Jobs says.
The iPad is a very precious gadget, and the only thing about the iPad is its huge screen that has multitouch, and that’s it. No buttons. So why on Earth does people do people develop an app especially for their cats, which are famous for scratching your bags and sofas and everything else.
App publisher Hiccup has gone and done just that, an app especially for your furry innocent look pal, the sinister cat. The app imitates a mouse or laser point darting about unpredictably, and it looks pretty darn fun, though I still won’t let my cat go anywhere near my iPad. We can’t tell if the game reacts to the cat’s paw-touch, it seemed that the game does detect the cat’s paw with an animation as an acknowledgement, and the mouse runs away.
Stuck at your campus and can’t go back due to the heavy snow, and your flight has just been cancelled? No worries. Pile up your books and make this Christmas tree, and sing some Christmas songs by yourself.
How does a “Nexus M” tablet sound to you? Or probably… Let’s think about another cool name besides the Nexus, since Google might probably dedicate that to their smartphone lineup. It seemed that Motorola would be the company that Google will be working with for their upcoming Honeycomb update, specifically for tablets.
The iPhone’s battery has always been rather notorious. But what if you can charge your phone while you go to work/school, and back, and around town? With this iFan, not only can you charge your iPhone by a slight bit, but you can also save the environment. It uses the wind to charge, so you don’t waste any electric, and you can do it anywhere as long as there’s wind.
