Self-sterilizing door handle absolutely sane

Self-sterilizing door handle absolutely sane

We all know about washing our hands to keep ‘em clean, but we can’t really control what others do. We might want to be hygiene, but some odd balls just never cared. As we all know, the door handle services most number of people in and out of a building, with most indirect contacts. That’s what makes this concept so special. A self-cleaning door handle, but one Choi Bomi.

His imagination goes like this. The gatekeeper continuously sterilizes itself with a UV light, only taking a break when you actually use it. A clandestine switch in the handle’s frame is what toggles the sanitizing illumination on and off, a spark of cleverness that’s earned the design a Red Dot award. Now let’s start manufacturing this hygiene controller.

The Anti-Sleep Pilot

The Anti-Sleep Pilot

The Anti-Sleep Pilot is a gadget that keeps you awake and safe while you driving using reaction times from tests.

“In addition to monitoring your driving behaviour using an accelerometer, the Anti-Sleep Pilot will give you a little reaction test every once in a while. It will make a sound and turn orange, at which point you have to smack it as fast as you can. The longer it takes you to do this, the more concerned the device gets about your reaction times, and if you’re too slow on four tests in a row, it will turn an angry red and demand that you pull over and rest.”

How it does that to stop you, well they didn’t really mention that part. Probably a red and very angry golem will crawl out from the gadget and slap you to stop your car. But this golem cost $220, you might want to consider whether this slap is worth it or not.

Microsoft releases H.264 video plug-in for Windows 7 Firefox users

December 20th, 2010

Microsoft releases H.264 video plug-in for Windows 7 Firefox usersThis comes as a surprised move from Microsoft. All these while it prefers its users to use Internet Explorer for all web browsing activities, but now it’s lending a helping hand to Windows 7 users that insist on using Firefox for some unknown and mysterious reasons.

The company has just released a plug-in that gets around Firefox’s current limitations in handling H.264-encoded videos on HTML5 pages by taking advantage of the H.264 support built into Windows 7. On a more technical level, that means the plug-in parses HTML5 pages and replaces the Video tags with a call to the Windows Media Player plug-in, which then allows the content to be played right in the browser. Well, at least they’re promoting Windows Media Player. Head to the source and get yours downloaded.

Miniature GRID?

Old-time skaters ENESS jumped at the chance to bring skateboarding into the future by blending interactivity and high-tech mastery for the Tron Legacy premiere. But how did they do that? Well, each rider is equipped with an iPod and their custom-built app to measure their air time and trigger graphics whilst in the air and on landing.

Gingerbread ported to Galaxy S, not fully awaken, yet.

Gingerbread ported to Galaxy S, not fully awaken, yet.

It seemed that Nexus S’s specialty of being the only phone with Gingerbread at the moment has already been taken off. Supercurio of xda-developers forum has ported the Nexus S’s Android 2.3 over to its older brother, the Samsung Galaxy S, and the port is described as being unmodified from the Nexus S. Then again, things obviously won’t go perfectly as fit, as always. A few basic functions are missing as of current, like voice, WiFi, and GPS. There’s one important thing to note though, supercurio stated that the new update is “super smooth”. Gives you all the need to push your luck to Gingerbread doesn’t it.

Good ol’ Windows error, we missed you

Good ol’ Windows error, we missed you

Artist Paul Destieu developed a ‘common Windows error’ by using 500 copies of his “My Favourite Landscape” print.

“My Favourite Landscape is made of 500 70 x 50 cm offset prints. It is a re-appropriation of the well-known Windows XP desktop: Green Hill. Taking advantage of the weakness of the computer, it sets the common bug out of its context, on a wall, expending it to a much bigger scale. The famous picture finds a new landscape shape out of its usual frame. “

I’d prefer if there’s an error message on the middle of his favorite landscape thought.

Google now tells you your site is hacked, shames your site too

Google has been on a roll lately. Let’s put Android aside, that’s too huge. Google has had Instant Search, Instant Preview, and now they’re going even further. Now the search result has hacked site notifications in the search results.
