Asetek has announced three new liquid CPU coolers for OEMs and system builders. The coolers are designed for chassis that utilizes two 92mm exhaust fans, unlike typical ones that has a single 120mm exhaust fan. The products are pretty much using the same concept and design, just that they have slightly different configuration for different systems: a single exhaust port, single-CPU cooler; a dual exhaust port, single-CPU cooler; and a dual exhaust port, dual-CPU cooler. Have you been to Taiwan lately? Because if you do, and you’re a nerd, you’ll most probably notice this very cool looking “MADE IN TAIWAN” sign, or art, as some call it. Gigabyte’s at it again, by installing a 30-meter wide piece of art consisting of 1,200 scrap motherboards at Terminal One of Taoyuan International Airport in Taiwan. It is one of three Taiwanese airports with regular international flights, and is by far the busiest international air entry point amongst them. Read more…

These days everything has to be touchscreen. Your table has to be touchscreen. Your fridge can spit out ice? That’s so yesteryear. We introduce to you a fridge with touchscreen, the Infinity I-Kitchen.
This is an icebox with Linux stuffed in it, developed by Electrolux’s Brazilian subsidiary in partnership with ProFusion Embedded Systems. It sports a Linux-based 800 x 480 touchscreen computer built around a 400 MHz Freescale i.MX25 SoC — which itself is based on 400MHz ARM926EJ-S core and already used in some automotive systems.

We’ve seen the Curve 8500 series and the Curve 3G, but many say that they do not really replace the much acclaimed Curve 8900. The Bold 9700 is totally out of the league of the younger Curve 8900, but now we have what seemed to be the true successor. Just like how RIM named the Bold 9780 after the Bold 9700, the new Curve is called the 8980, quite similar to the Curve 8900’s naming. Read more…

Here’s something very unique and rare. The Pure Twilight Alarm Clock is touted as the world’s first combined dawn simulator lamp and digital radio that brings together the best in light therapy and the choice and ease-of-use of digital radio to deliver the ultimate bedside experience. Sounds like a lamp with integrated radio and alarm to me. Read more…

Remember the battery powered TV from Toshiba? It seemed that they’re going serious for it, and already has a market aimed at it. Toshiba is targeting ASEAN countries to promote its latest “Power TV” series, which is available in three different flavours with the PB1 (24”), PC1 (32”) and PS1 (40”). These countries include Indonesia, Malaysia, the Philippines, Singapore, Thailand, Brunei, and Vietnam as Toshiba’s targeted market. Read more…

Winter’s coming, and you’ll probably need a fireplace. Maybe an artificial one. And oh, you might also need a new television, cause you’ll be considered a slowpoke if you don’t have an LCD TV, at least. The holiday’s coming, and you might want to stay warm, and watch some DVD with your family. That’s if your family is the ‘tame’ ones. Most people I know got wasted and started Christmas with a hangover.
Somehow, the people at Safretti got a weird inspiration to add an HD LCD TV to a portable fireplace. They’re not mentioning how much they want for doing that, but it seemed that they’re not going very big with this. Sony should seriously rebadge this. It comes in two sizes, featuring either a 37-inch or 47-inch TV. And oh, the fire’s fake.Seriously!

Not to lose out to Microsoft and their motion sensing fun, Sony has announced that the company has thus far shipped 4.1 million Playstation Move controllers worldwide. Though, that number comes with a catch. This number is actually the amount that Sony shipped to retailers, not the amount that is really sold. Also, more than 75 percent of the Move sales in the US are bundles — meaning new console sales or software groupings.
“While we don’t disclose our exact sell-through number, the key is that our retailers continue to ask for more Move units and are taking every unit we can supply them with based on their sales.”

Google Earth is already an awesome application. Besides being free, which makes it so awesome, it has been the best tool to search for directions, and show others ‘how to get there’. Though, adding the cloud there might be a dumb move as it really irritates me, but now Google has gone further and adds new cool feature to its Google Earth yet again.
This times, Street View is getting seamless integration into your virtual travels, with the little yellow Pegman set right next to the navigation controls for placing any which where. Google has also “planted” millions of 3D trees to make the 3D building view a bit more realistic, and has a new easy-access method for pulling up historical imagery. Just makes Google Earth a whole lot more realistic. One day, you might just be able to track your girlfriend jogging in the park. Read more…
