We’ve seen Sandy Bridge processors at retail, as well as motherboards, but now notebooks powered by new Sandy Bridge processors are also popping out from the bottle in the blizzard of Singapore. News has it that Singaporean malls are already stocking Pavilion dv6 laptops with the new Core i7 processors. It’s the same quad-core i7-2630QM chip that popped up on a dv7 spec sheet not too long ago — it runs at 2GHz by default, but dynamic overclocking and disabling of cores can take that up to the 2.8GHz mark. Keeping it company inside HP’s 15.6-inch laptop are 4GB of RAM and AMD’s Radeon HD 6570M GPU. The entire machine is described as indistinguishable, in terms of construction, from HP’s current crop of dv6s, leaving the precious internals to justify a price of 1,899 Singapore dollars (about $1,460).
We all know that the P67 chipset from Intel is for the new Sandy Bridge processor which uses socket 1155. However, ASRock has gone and does the ‘crazy’ stuff yet again by using ‘the older’ socket 1156 on a P67 motherboard. Now, this is not a simple do and done stunt, as ASRock is also marketing a very crazy 2600MHz DDR3 speed for this motherboard. We all know that Dual Channel DDR3 on the P55 platform has always been able to overclock higher than Triple Channel DDR3 on the X58, but 2600Mhz is a very sweet speed indeed. However, it’s important to note that this motherboard only has one PCI-Express x16 slot, which means no SLI or Crossfire for this motherboard.
Fancy a very bling pair of pants that also act has a mobile charger? I for one will immediately think of getting electrocuted by the pants, but that sounds quite kinky too. Fancy technology, especially those that are environmentally friendly always comes with a hefty price, and so does this charger. Usually we buy a charger for about MYR10 (USD 3), but what if you’re required to fork out USD 920 (MYR 2,850)?
The thing is a convenient and environmentally friendly solar powered charger. But it also doubles as a pair of pants. ? Made with Untrasuede material, the Urban Cargo Pant is ultra-soft, and easy to wash and dry. It comes with solar panel attached on the two side pockets of the pants, each with its own independent functioning power supply. Frankly speaking, although the pants may be made using some professional material and printed in the company’s exclusive Go graphic “cell” print, it just look like a pair of very shiny pajamas pants that you’ll wear out shopping, making you look rather ridiculous. But these days fashion is all about being ridiculous, so I guess there’s no harm in wearing this out. Hopefully you’re out in the sun long enough to charge something.
In its essence, trolling is the act of provocation through well-crafted replies on the Internet. Trolling is usually associated with Internet forums and message boards, but truth to be told, trolling already existed way before the Internet itself. That is why some can even come up with high-level trolling, when the person really has nothing better to do (NBTD).
Well, this is the thing that you need to buy if you want the nearest and most accurate experience of a real car racing circuits on GT5 feels, at least that’s what they want you to think. Thrustmaster has officially announced the full specs and price for its T500RS steering wheel and pedal set, otherwise known as the official driving simulator for Gran Turismo 5. Too bad Logitech, but you’re still awesome back then.
Usually, the cameras that you see in the professional studio, especially those fashion photography scenes, are filled with Hasselblads, Nikon D3X, EOS 1Ds mk4, or probably some EOS 5Ds mk2. That’s to be expected, as with clients needing the most tack sharp and high resolution pictures possible by today’s technological standards. But what happens when a team of professional photographers ditch the lumbering beasts which cost few dozen grands for a more svelte imaging solution, like the Nokia N8? Yes, the magazine cover you see above is taken with the Nokia N8. Read more…
University is always the fun place to be, being free from parents’ radar (mostly) and grouping around with buddies nearly every day. It’s also the place where creative ideas from youngsters always pop up. That’s why it’s fun to be around universities that have creative and fun things to keep your mind off stress from your exams and assignments, like the slide in this university. The video here you see is a pair of giant tubes being placed in the Technische Universitat in Munich, Germany. That’s where you get your fun short cut to go from the top floor to the ground level patio. Though, I won’t be surprised if you see some stupid boys trying to climb up to the top floor from the ground floor. Reverse engineering?
To me, golf has always been a ‘rich fag’ sports. It’s boring, it’s painful to your spine, and it’s like a real life Worms Armageddon, trying to shoot some white balls into a whole. Mind you, a golf ball is few times more expensive than a badminton shuttlecock, and you need lots of them, not to forget at times you lost a few of them too. I do salute you if you can do the “Hole in One” shoot, but that’s rather rare. But when you mix up golf and clay pigeon shooting, that’s something people does for the /lulz/, like the video you see here. But then again, when you really get to shoot down that flying saucer, it seemed like you own this world, like how Simon “Chaka” Khan did it.
