First day of 2011 and what did you do? I woke up late due to hangover, but some people woke up at 6AM for something else. The picture you see above is taken at China, and what are they waiting in line for? New iPhone 5, or the legendary white iPhone 4? No, they’re waiting in line for a so called “iPhone 4 ripoff”, the Meizu M9.

Apparently Meizu not online imitated the iPhone 4’s shape and Retina Display; they also ripped off the long queue of the iPhone. The Meizu M9 is a 3.5-inch Android 2.2 smartphone that resembles the Apple iPhone. Pretty much the closest thing you can have if you want an iPhone 4 but running on Froyo. With no limit on how many units each person could pre-order (¥2,499 / $379 for 8GB, and ¥2,699 / $409 for 16GB), you can imagine the numbers sold. Will they be able to copy the sales record of the iPhone too?
