Microsoft has officially announced Avatar Kinect for their highly popular console Xbox 360. Thus far, this service is only available for Xbox Live Gold members only. The idea about Avatar Kinect is to let you virtually hang out with your “friends” at home, something like video conference but with an animated you in the cyberspace of your television. But the important part here is that Kinect will be able to detect facial gestures like eyebrows, smiles, and laughs. Not that I’m super surprised, but we do see quite a huge amount of impressive Kinect hacks from the public.
