Nintendo 3DS coming in March 25 for $249.99 in Europe, US on March 27

Nintendo show to the world their 3DS last year, but never gave a price or timeframe for this marvellous handheld game console that doesn’t need glasses for its 3D. But finally Nintendo officially launched the 3DS in a press event in New York and Amsterdam. The 3DS will be available on the 27th of March for $249.99, while Europeans will get it a few days earlier, on March 25th. European pricing, however, will be decided by retailers, which I expect it to be higher than the US price due to VAT and stuff, and we’re probably looking at something around €249.99.
Nintendo is promising more than 30 games available in the US during the launch and more than 25 in Europe, with that window spanning between the actual launches in March and E3 in June. However, they fail to provide a list of the games that’ll make it by then. Probably not many developers had confirmed their participations. Many games were discussed, including Super Street Fighter IV: 3D Edition, Pro Evolution Soccer 2011 3D, Dead or Alive Dimensions, Rabbids 3D, Resident Evil: Revelations, a new Paper Mario, and an obligatory Madden game too. As for pricing, retailers are showing $40 to $50 per game.
Meanwhile, European gamers are going to be getting a taste of exclusive 3D video content from a variety of partners, most notable being EuroSport, which will be serve up depth-enabled sports footage to portable consoles.
