StarCraft AI obliterates pro-gamer, just waiting for more Gundam to be built

StarCraft AI obliterates pro-gamer, just waiting for more Gundam to be builtSome people find it fun and challenging to go against seven StarCraft brutal AI bots, but if you’re a Pro StarCraft player, this shouldn’t be a problem. If it is, then you’re probably not a pro to begin with. Then again, you may still be a pro even if you’re defeated by this AI known as Berkeley Overmind.
Developed by Dan Klein and his team of super computer science fans at a university, it achieved victory at the 2010 AI and Interactive Digital Entertainment (AIIDE) Conference StarCraft AI competition. The system is programmed to work its way around different tactics and micro-manage effectively, leading a Zerg army to victory almost every time.
The team’s Probabilistic Sensing and Threat Estimator expert Haomiao Huang explains how the Overlord’s Zerg forces obliterate the Terran army of Spain’s no.1 StarCraft player Oriol Vinyals. “Oriol makes a desperate, last-ditch attack on the Zerg base, trying to break through before the mutalisks are reinforced, but it’s too late. One after another, his goliaths get ripped apart by the Zerg defences. As a new wave of mutalisks emerges from the Zerg hatcheries, he has no choice but to concede—to the computerized AI that just defeated him.”
Yes, Oriol Vinyals might not be heard of when it comes to pro-gamer names like TLO, Jinro, FruitDealer, oGsMC and so on (definitely not including Idra), but he is considered a pro-gamer for joining WCG 2001 representing Spain. Now all they need to do is port the AI over to StarCraft 2, and get it into Diamond League of Korea server, and see how it fares. An AI is not an extreme AI if it can’t take on the Koreans. If it does have a victory percentage of over 90-percent, the creators should terminate this AI before Skynet massacre starts. You’re never know if this AI bot is actually self-aware and just waiting for us humans to build more robots for their coup d’état.
