Samsung’s next Galaxy S coming soon

Samsung is very obvious in a slightly steep position after Motorola announced their Atrix 4G and Bionic LTE. What’s more, Apple has also been rumoured to be working on a dual-core processor on their next iPhone and iPad. That’s where Samsung’s new campaign comes in. the “Evolution is Fate” campaign promised a replacement for the ever popular Galaxy S, and obviously specs would have to be leaked to fend opponents off and attract potential buyers. The treat here is a new 1GHz Orion processor based on the dual-core ARM Cortex A9 cores, paired with an 8-Megapixel camera and loaded with Google’s Android 2.3 Gingerbread.
The Galaxy S2 camera is said to be gifted with 1080p Full HD video recording, while up front is a 4.3-inch 800 x 480 Super AMOLED Plus touchscreen. Samsung is believed to have included NFC, following the trend set by the Nexus S, along with 1GB of RAM, and the whole thing is said to be just 9mm thick. In contrast, the original Galaxy S is 9.9mm thick. Will this let Samsung step back into the dual-core ring? We’ll see soon.
The Orion processor is said to support Full HD output via an HDMI 1.3a port – in fact the chip can concurrently run an external display while simultaneously driving two onboard displays, thought I doubt Samsung will actually make the most of that capability – and has an embedded GPS receiver. The same dual-core chip should also power Samsung’s upcoming Galaxy Tab slates.
