StarCraft AI obliterates pro-gamer, just waiting for more Gundam to be built

StarCraft AI obliterates pro-gamer, just waiting for more Gundam to be builtSome people find it fun and challenging to go against seven StarCraft brutal AI bots, but if you’re a Pro StarCraft player, this shouldn’t be a problem. If it is, then you’re probably not a pro to begin with. Then again, you may still be a pro even if you’re defeated by this AI known as Berkeley Overmind.
Developed by Dan Klein and his team of super computer science fans at a university, it achieved victory at the 2010 AI and Interactive Digital Entertainment (AIIDE) Conference StarCraft AI competition. The system is programmed to work its way around different tactics and micro-manage effectively, leading a Zerg army to victory almost every time.
The team’s Probabilistic Sensing and Threat Estimator expert Haomiao Huang explains how the Overlord’s Zerg forces obliterate the Terran army of Spain’s no.1 StarCraft player Oriol Vinyals. “Oriol makes a desperate, last-ditch attack on the Zerg base, trying to break through before the mutalisks are reinforced, but it’s too late. One after another, his goliaths get ripped apart by the Zerg defences. As a new wave of mutalisks emerges from the Zerg hatcheries, he has no choice but to concede—to the computerized AI that just defeated him.”
Yes, Oriol Vinyals might not be heard of when it comes to pro-gamer names like TLO, Jinro, FruitDealer, oGsMC and so on (definitely not including Idra), but he is considered a pro-gamer for joining WCG 2001 representing Spain. Now all they need to do is port the AI over to StarCraft 2, and get it into Diamond League of Korea server, and see how it fares. An AI is not an extreme AI if it can’t take on the Koreans. If it does have a victory percentage of over 90-percent, the creators should terminate this AI before Skynet massacre starts. You’re never know if this AI bot is actually self-aware and just waiting for us humans to build more robots for their coup d’état.

How to remind the kids (and yourself) to switch off the lights

How to remind the kids (and yourself) to switch off the lights

We should all get this sticker and stick it at our home and office so that the next time we want to switch on the light, we will think twice. Well, there’s nothing wrong with switching on the lights as we don’t want to step on any gross stuff in the toilet do we, but at least we’re reminded to switch off the light to save energy and not produce CO2. Designers Hu2 should probably create another type with a dollar sign, which I think would be more effective.

With this now you can have a pair of balls made of steel

With this now you can have a pair of balls made of steel

But it ain’t going to be cheap though. This funky looking and very tiny ball was made out of pure titanium powder by utilizing a very crazy $1 million 3D printer. And the cost of the ball? About $124 to $192. So it’s not really that expensive to have a pair of balls-of-steel. And they’re titanium mind you, so they’re very strong and very dependable on tough situations.

The ball—which has a 2cm diameter—was created by i.materialise, a company who is taking custom orders for titanium 3D prints right now. This is actually a new thing to be available to consumers, who have only been able to have plastic or stainless-steel 3D prints made up until now.

Linksys E4200 Dual-Band Router Is Their Newest Top of the Line

These days’ electronic gadgets need to look tough too besides being tough, and we have some certain company to thank to. Cisco’s products have always been awesome to work with, provided you know how to config them. But now they’re also good to look at, so that your office won’t look odd to have some white box with two antennas hanging on the ceiling like a Spiderman. Their latest Cisco/Linksys E4200 router really looks gorgeous for a router. There are 3×3 antennas that you can’t see, and dual-band wireless-N. The six antennas (both internal and external) are supposed to make this reach farther inside larger homes, and can shoot up to 450Mbps at 5GHz, or 300Mbps at 2.4GHz. It’s priced at $180 and will hit in the next few months. There are also 4 Gigabit ports behind, which is a great thing as most computers these days already have Gigabit port.

Eton Mobius makes your iPhone alive again, in a sunny mood

Your iPhone 4 always runs out of juice daily right? All thanks to the fags that have never seen an iPhone 4 before, and spamming your Angry Bird the whole day in the cubical. How about replenishing the juice of your iPhone the holy way? That’s where the Eton Mobius gets you. It’s an iPhone case, but it’s also a battery pack with an 1800mAh battery that can double you battery life. But the important part is that it’s packed together with a solar charger that gives you approximately 20 minutes of talk time per sun hour, so that you can still call back and lie to mum of you staying overtime, for reasons that I can’t think of.
