Simplistic Horodron Watch Concept Hides Subtle E-Ink Secret

We’ve seen quite some fair share of bizarre watch designs from Yanko Design that seems to enjoy making our lives more miserable. But alas, here’s a more ‘tame’ watch from Jonathan Frey, and it’s called Horodron. A concept for now, this simple e-ink watch will adorn wrists only if you ask really, really nicely. Hey, it’s happened before… Alright, this phone is nowhere near tame.

The watch uses a black and white metal/chrome styling which I say complements the e-ink face and calendar very well. The time is displayed in white along the bottom. At least it looks simple yet elegant.

Fujitsu unveils Esprimo FH99/CM, world's first glasses-free 3D desktop

Fujitsu is gearing up to drop their newest 3D all-in-one desktop PC ‘Esprimo FH99/CM’ for the Japanese market. However, this is not your ordinary 3D monitor, as the Esprimo FH99/CM is able to display in 3D without the need for glasses. The desktop is not a small fry too as it’s equipped with the latest Sandy Bridge processor and the latest Intel HD 3000 graphic.

The machine has a 23-inch 1920 x 1080 3D display, a 2.0GHz Intel Core i7-2630QM quad-core processor, an integrated Intel HD 3000 graphics card, a 4GB RAM, up to 2TB hard drive, a webcam, a Blu-ray drive, an SD card slot, a TV tuner, WiFi, an HDMI port, two USB 3.0 ports and runs on Windows 7 Home Premium 64-bit OS. Unfortunately, there’s no word on pricing yet. But I’m pretty sure the glassless 3D is already a very big selling point.

Green House reveals its first 15.6-inch USB monitor

Green House reveals its first 15.6-inch USB monitor

We hardly see people using 15.6-inch monitor as a secondary display, as mostly people who setup dual-display or multiple displays are mostly graphic designers or gamers, and they’d want to aim for a quality monitor that’s huge and with very fast response and colour quality. These days monitor manufacturers are very busy churning out huge monitors with HD-resolution. But sometimes, we’re just in a hurry and need a quick dual-monitor setup which weighs less than 3 pounds, like this Greenhouse 15.6-inch GH-HSD16k USB secondary monitor.

Yes, the 1366 x 768 resolution surely cannot compare to Apple’s 27-inch Cinema Display, but it should be much affordable to the wallet, especially those in need of a quick dual-monitor setup. The monitor is capable of producing 18bit color depth and has a brightness of 220 nits while sipping just 5 watts of Serial Bus power. Speaking of dual-action, the monitor can also be set to clone or extend the connected computer’s screen depending on user preference. Look for it to start shipping early next month to Japan for an estimated price of $214.

Microsoft Touch Mouse

Yet another mouse from Microsoft that’s getting quite the attention they want. Unveiled at CES 2011, this is the Microsoft Touch Mouse designed for Windows 7. It’s a multi-touch device that allows you to click, flick, scroll, and swipe. Sounds very familiar? Yes, your latest Mighty Mouse right there besides your Mac can do just that, albeit earlier than this Microsoft Touch Mouse. Now, let’s not get started with this ‘who copied who’.

The Touch Mouse is equipped with the BlueTrack Technology, so you can use it on virtually any surface. What’s more, the mouse also features a tiny Nano transceiver. The Microsoft Touch Mouse will be released in June 2011 for $79.95 each. Watch the video after the jump to understand just how it works. Read more…

WebOS coming to netbook and slate?

Well, it seemed so. At least according to this info coming from a carrier training website HP has set up to educate resellers on the strong points of its forthcoming products. The training video on the site speaks of the great synergies that can result from smartphones, slates and netbooks all running the same OS and “speaking” to one another. Veda Quantum Operating System? Yeah right. According to HP, Smartphones are said to be the beginning of a new family of webOS products, with their larger siblings set to come “soon enough”, and their “soon” is around February 9th. We shall see…

This ride beats all Veyron in town

But will effectively make you half a million poorer. This is the Batmobile not from the blockbuster Dark Knight, but more of the vintage Batman Returns. Indeed it looks more classic and striking, but the interior does seem to be uninspiring, unless you’re a true Batman lunatic.

World’s first wireless graphic card looks like a tank

World’s first wireless graphic card looks like a tank

What you’re looking at is not a tank with some funky huge antennas that sucks all the chakra in the surrounding. What you’re looking at here is the world’s first wireless graphics card affectionately dubbed the KFA2 (aka, Galaxy) GeForce GTX460 WHDI 1024MB PCI-E 2.0. Yes, wireless.

The card utilizes five aerials at the back (the I/O plats that you plug your DVI cables in) to stream uncompressed 1080p video from your PC to your WHDI enabled television (or any display courtesy of the bundled 5GHz WHDI receiver) at a range of about 100 feet. Otherwise, it’s the same mid-range GTX 460 card we’ve seen universally lauded with 1024MB of onboard RAM helping to make the most of its 336 CUDA cores. Not sure why you really need this, but I’m sure one in a billion people in this world would want this desperately for reasons unknown. Too bad that they didn’t manage to do this magic trick to the GTX580, or it’ll be cool to get.

World’s longest bridge is long!

World’s longest bridge is long!

Stretching 26.4 miles across the sea, and completed in just four years, this brand new Qingdao Haiwan Bridge connecting the Chinese cities Qingdao and Huangdao took 10,000 workers to complete in a 24/7 schedule. $8 billion might sound like a scary amount of budget, but it’s not when you consider how long this thing is. The previous record-holder, Louisiana’s Lake Pontchartrain Causeway, is all of three miles shorter. Read more…
