iPad 2 rumors continue despite March 2 coming close

March 2 is coming near, and still people just couldn’t wait until then. So here we are again, with rumors of the next iPad. Obviously the iPad will have a speed bump thanks to the new A5 processor, and it’s been confirmed by a source telling Engadget that it’s going to be thinner than the current iPad. But there are a few things that are going to be of surprise for everyone. The Motorola Xoom has a resolution of 1280 x 800 making it a 16:10 widescreen view, but the current iPad only has 1024 x 768 resolutions, which is a very old 4:3 square screen.

Now, the source which seemed to be from inside of Apple has claimed that the new iPad will not have a bigger screen and bigger resolution, meaning to say that we’ll still be seeing the same 1024 x 768 resolutions panel despite Apple widely promoting their Retina display on the iPhone 4. The source isn’t 100-percent clear of the reason, but is guessing ‘vague engineering issues’ which seemed to be a very last minute change. Also, the SD card slot may too be missing this time round.

So, no better screen, and no SD card slot, and no USB port. What should we expect then on March 2? Well, a slimmer iPad with better processor (dual-core is not guaranteed here), bigger ram (512MB), and iOS 4.3, which seemed to be quite confirmed. iOS 5 is not guaranteed, but a possibility that Apple will announce it, along with its SDK for developers, as well as announcement for Apple’s new cloud services, which is still mysterious for us.
