University of Groningen in the Netherlands has made headlines today for being the coolest school to go to for nerdy teens and those that fancy some cool techs in big size. That’s because they’re equipped with the world’s largest touchscreen that measures at 32.8 feet long by 9.2 feet high. It’s at a university, so it’s used for some state-of-the-art criminal investigation purposes or monitoring the school’s security or anything fancy like that, but simply used to teach math and computer science at the university. Yes, boy and a girls. Studying math has gone up a level in coolness. Read more…

Fancy a thin and light-weight laptop device but hate to own any Apple products? Well, too bad for you because it seems like the closest device to Apple’s famous MacBook Air, the Dell Adamo, will be discontinued. Say goodbye to Dell’s ultra-thin laptops equipped with eye-catching aluminium casings and blazingly fast solid-state drives much like the MacBook Air, yet painfully slow processor. Read more…

Well what a surprise this is. The iControlPad, a peripheral we first saw in 2008, is still alive, kicking, and ready to be ordered for $74.99 before its initial February 16 ship date. However, this is something slightly different from what we saw two years ago. Time passed by, and of course some update will be needed to catch up with time.

I’m not sure if this is a good news, or a bad news. Speaking during a financial earnings call today, Activision COO Thomas Tippl said that if we don’t see any games from Blizzard this year, the publisher expects to see them next year.

Because Sandy Bridge has been launched (yes, the recall, but let’s get over it) and you bought an uber Core i7 rig with quad-SLI GTX580 and three monitors and have a nuclear powerplant at your backyard to power them up. That’s why they’re doing this.

When Nexus S comes out, it made quite a ‘huha’ all over the place. It’s got Gingerbread, it’s got NFC, fake concave screen, and it’s a ‘Google Experience’. But fast forward just about two months later, and the Nexus S has already lost its uniqueness.
During CES, Viewsonic mentioned that their ViewPad 4 handset will be in the market in mid-June with Android 2.2 but now it seemed that the handset is getting lots of love in the lab. Pocket-lint is reporting that it’s heard from a source at Viewsonic who says the ViewPad 4 is now set to launch in April… with Android 2.4. According to the source, however, that update will not be dubbed “Ice Cream” as some had suspected, but will instead simply still be called Gingerbread.
No changes in name, and still we only see one Nexus S on the market with Gingerbread. What’s this all about? Will Android 2.4 give the much awaited support for dual-core processors which will give Android a huge boost in speed? I still prefer Google to improve Android’s multitasking and memory management.

“The first iPhone shipped in 2007, and we still don’t have a product that is close to their experience. Android came on the scene just over 2 years ago, and this week they took our leadership position in smartphone volumes. Unbelievable.” – These are the few words of among the whole memo of “burning platform” written by Nokia CEO Stephen Elop to their internal system. A move to rally the troopers, or a move to save his job?
Stephen Elop sent out this touching memo of flames to all of Nokia’s employees to share what he’s learned and what he’s come to believe, that Nokia’s standing on a burning platform. Steve, you’ve talk the talk, now can you walk the walk? Read more…
