Choose what you wanna carry along with this Switch

Choose what you wanna carry along with this Switch

Here’s something cool (though very bulky) for you if you really like having Swiss Knife in your pocket. Switch is the (sort of) ultimate modular pocketknife; with 17 different attachments so you can mix and match your most frequently used tools. Customize your Switch’s width by swapping out the inner axles, or group your tools into different “themes” – home, office, outdoors, etc. However you choose to do it, Switch is your tool, your way. It’s not expensive too, as the whole kit only cost $79.

RIM still top in the market, but is shrinking badly

RIM still top in the market, but is shrinking badlyThere are so many companies out there taking statistics that sometimes we get multiple sources conflict each other. Still, it’s a good reference nonetheless to get a glimpse of the market and its numbers. According to a report by comScore, the firm claimed that RIM is still the no.1 market holder, but the size of the pie has greatly shrunk all thanks to Android and iPhone. Its market share dropped from 37.3% to 31.6%. I’m surprised not many RIM owners jumping ship over to the touchscreen camps.

Apple gained share, but not enough to maintain its lead over Google, which is the new no.2. Android had 28.7% share (up from 21.4%), and Apple had 25% (up from 24.3%). Oddly, Microsoft’s market share dropped from 9.9% to 8.4% despite releasing its new Windows Phone 7.

Of course, this market share specifically says iPhone, not iOS, which mean it’s referring to smartphone only. Also, specifically comparing Apple’s iPhone to Google’s Android is not a very accurate method, as many manufacturers like Samsung and LG and HTC carries Google’s Android OS, which help widen the market share too. It seemed that every company with a soldering iron is making Android phones these days. If we compare specifically then the numbers would be different altogether.

Are you the HTC Wildfire 2?

The HTC Wildfire has been said to be the poor man’s Android phone, and now a leak has surfaced which seemed to be the next Wildfire. Denon gives your lovely RCD-N7 CD player some AirPlay love

Owners of the Denon RCD-N7 CD player can now rejoice, as Denon has finally issued a firmware update for their CD player. The new firmware upgrade allows the player to support Apple’s AirPlay so you can stream your favourite songs to the player while you jam away with Angry Bird. The AirPlay wireless technology allows you to stream your iTunes library wirelessly to your CD player. If you’ve forgotten, the Denon RCD-N7 features Wi-Fi, DLNA ver1.5, iPod touch/ iPhone 4 dock and a USB port. Among the quality iPhone 4 media dock out there I’d say.

iPad 2 enters production phase

Yes, we all know that a new iPad is in the horizon, and that we all know it’s going to be so much thinner and faster, probably faster by 2-percent and thinner by 2mm, which makes it so much more awesome than the current iPad. Now we’re getting a very bold claim by WSJ that an anonymous source has confirmed all those front cameras, faster processor, better display, and that it’s now entering mass production phase at Foxconn. Coming this spring the tablet war will be very interesting, as we’ll see Xoom competing with the iPad 2, and whatever that HP webOS tablet is.

This Giving Tree will charge all your pods and droids

This Giving Tree will charge all your pods and droids

What a weird and funny concept this is. Designed by Kim Joonmin and Jeong-a Choi, the Giving Tree concept allows you to charge multiple mobile devices simultaneously, which obviously includes all your iOS devices. The Giving Tree charger looks like a plastic tree and provides several connectors that can be attached to your gadgets. Well, it is still a concept at this moment. Does look slightly awkward, but if you change the green cables to some other colors, and give it a good posh touch, it should sell well. Read more…
