NEC’s latest ‘world thinner’ MEDIAS N-04C Android phone launched, compared with iPhone 4

If you’re in Japan, then you’ve got to check out this phone. It’s NEC’s latest Android smartphone, and it’s super-duper thin. That’s why they call it the “world’s thinnest Android smartphone”. Well, as usual, new smartphone will be compared with the mighty iPhone 4, and so does this MEDIAS N-04C. Akihabara News were present at DoCoMo’s launch event, and they were able to get up close to inspect this 7.7mm-thin Android 2.2 handset.

Goodies of this phone are like NFC, 1seg TV Tuner, infrared port, 5 megapixel camera, 800MHz Qualcomm MSM7230 chip, etc. There’s also Gorilla Glass present. Apparently Android 2.3 update will arrive in July. Read more…

Even though Apple shown OS X Lion few months ago, OS X Lion’s official debut is still a good few months away. Probably some news will be announced during summer. HTC Incredible S coming this week in UK with Froyo

The latest flagship of HTC, the HTC Incredible S is supposed to come only in the second quarter, but oddly HTC decided to ship it this week in UK. Pre-orders have already started with shipments promised for tomorrow. However, the phone will only ship with Froyo instead of the promised Gingerbread. An upgrade is promised for the near future. I guess this is good news and sad news in one. But does it hurt so much to wait for a few months?

Apple refreshes MacBook Pros with Sandy Bridge processors, AMD graphics, Thunderbolt I/O tech, and HD cameras

Right, this was expected, and it came all along well. Last night Apple took down their online stores for a while, and up it came an hour later, with the new MacBook Pro. Yes, it has the new Intel Sandy Bridge Core i5 and i7 processors, and it even has new AMD Radeon HD 6000M graphics (goodbye Nvidia), though the 13-inch MacBook Pros still doesn’t get discreet graphic chip as usual. There are two new 13-inchers, two 15.4-inch versions, and one lone 17-inch model. Let’s break it down. Read more…

FaceTime for Mac finally arrives, will cost you $0.99

After a lengthy four-month beta trial and sneak peek, Apple finally dropped their popular FaceTime app to the masses. Yes, this means that any Mac user can finally do video chat with other Mac or iOS users. Unlike the app’s free iOS counterpart, though, you’ll have to chip in $0.99 on the Mac App Store for some enlarged video chat sessions. Worth it? I’m not sure, but I’m sure there are tons of other options out there.

iFixit blasts some sparks to prove a point in Galaxy S 4G teardown

The Samsung Galaxy S 4G is the latest in the Galaxy S lineup. It’s not the Galaxy S II, and it’s also slightly different from the Galaxy S that we all know. Just launched in US, and the crew at iFixit already went to rip this new baby apart. But this time around, they’re not only ripping it up, they’re also doing some tiny blast. Apart from having the new HSPA+ chip, the new Galaxy S 4G also uses magnesium in their body frame, as it is stronger and lighter than aluminum. However, there’s no way to prove it by using our bare eye, so iFixit check it out, and burnt some fingers, so that we don’t have to prove it ourselves.

Google teaches new mother and nerds how to cook

Google teaches new mother and nerds how to cook

You can apparently search almost anything using Google’s search engine. News, images, videos, and now even recipe. Just saw some delicious Japanese food in the afternoon drama but don’t know how to make it happen? Overheard the ladies sitting at the next table that their dinner last night was awesome? Then it’s time to fire up Google and get things done, the real dirty way, in the kitchen, with apron of course. Nekkid or not is up to you.

The folks that love desserts at Mountain View are rolling out a new Recipe View tab, which will not only narrow your search results to show cooking recipes, but will also provide some pretty awesome ways to filter down your inevitable query for spaghetti, cheese, and meatballs. The image above pretty much explains it all — you can filter down by your ideal ingredients, cooking time, and even the calories count. Google’s even making it easier for recipe website developers to add markups to their webpages so that content can eventually appear all nicely sorted on the new search pages. It should all be rolling out as we speak in the US and Japan.
