Xtreamer Ultra ION 2-Based Mini PC

Here’s a preview of the ‘Ultra’ PC from Xtreamer which is about to be unveiled at the upcoming CeBIT 2011. It’s a new ION 2-based mini PC, measuring at only 21.2cm x 14.2cm x 5.35 cm, and is packed with a 1.8GHz Intel Atom D525 dual-core processor, a NVIDIA ION 2 graphics card with 512MB of dedicated memory, a 4GB RAM, a 2.5/3.5-inch hard drive bay, Gigabit Ethernet, six USB 2.0 ports, an HDMI port, WiFi and is bundled with a USB drive featuring a pre-installed, pre-configured operating system. Pricing info is still unknown at the moment.

Samsung D7000 and D8000 3D LED TVs Released In South Korea

Now we know where Samsung gets their confidence from. 10 million units shouldn’t be a problem if they all look like that and comes with those two Korean plastic chicks. Samsung has finally confirmed the availability of the D7000 and D8000 3D LED TVs in the South Korean market. The Samsung D7000 and D8000 are the latest generation of 3D LED TVs that come in a very slim design (heard that LG?). Both LED TVs is able to display 3-dimensional contents in full HD resolution with a wider viewing angle, reduced cross-talk and screen flickering. In addition, these LED TVs also support Smart Hub UI that includes a universal search bar, access to Samsung Apps store and support for world’s lightest active shutter glasses. Pricing info is still unknown thus far, so there’s still hope that they two ladies come with the package.

Intel 10-core CPUs coming in first half of 2011, and you can’t own one

Yes, and that’s because it’s a server class chip. Thursday an Intel spokesperson said that its upcoming 10-core “Westmere-EX” Xeon processor will launch during the first half of 2011. The chip apparently will replace Intel’s Nehalem-EX CPU, currently the fastest Intel server processor on the market sporting up to eight cores.

Kinect for Windows SDK coming this spring

Yes, it’s official. Microsoft will be releasing the Kinect for Windows SDK soon, after a long rumour which started shortly after the Kinect Hack frenzy. According to Microsoft, “It will be available this spring as a free download, and will give academic researchers and enthusiast access to key pieces of the Kinect system-such as the audio technology, system application programming interfaces and direct control of the Kinect sensor itself.” Commercial licensing details will be made available at some point thereafter.
