See a single Radeon HD 6990 single-handled Eyefinity 5×1 with games smoothly

Tom’s Hardware visited AMD’s office in Markham, Ontario to borrow the toilet, and while walking around they found this, a 5×1 Eyefinity configuration, which means five monitors all lined up in a single row.

Previously Eyefinity only allows for 3×1 or 6×2 configurations, but instead of having monitors in their usual landscape mode, the setup that they saw had the monitors in portrait mode in a row. This is actually a good multi-monitor setup method, as I think the 6×2 setup is quite pointless. Of course, some might kill themselves due to the bezels. I think it’s time for monitor manufacturers and TV manufacturers to start rolling out bezel-less monitors (or near bezel-less if you must).

Of course, we have to note that a solo HD 6990 is crunching all the graphics out by itself. What a loner, but still very impressive what the card can do. Dirt 3 and Dragon Age 2 ran smoothly on 5×1 with this card.
