Mozilla already working on Firefox 4.0.1 update

Funny isn’t it. They’ve already tested it for so long, and they still found some tiny bugs. Yet, Mozilla is hard headed and still going ahead with its March 22 release date of the new browser without that update integrated into the official release.

According to a developer post, Firefox RC1 is now officially Firefox 4 final. A Java bug that was initially listed as a blocking bug was removed from the list and will now be fixed with Firefox 4.0.1. So, wait for the official release, install it, and update it.

Of course, let’s not forget the Firefox 5 that we’ve seen (the preview anyway). Mozilla’s Jeff Walden said that Mozilla un-reserved some JavaScript keywords for Firefox 5 and ECMAScript 5, which should give programmers more application flexibility. Developers can test the change in the latest nightly build for Firefox 4 b13-pre.

Firefox 5 is about 6 months behind schedule, and Mozilla will have to fight for market share with Microsoft’s new Internet Explorer 9 (IE9) and Google’s Chrome 10, which has been consistently gaining momentum these past months, and Mozilla will have to make do with using Firefox 4 for this battle.
