iPad 2 has intermittent WiFi connectivity issue, which sounds very familiar

When the first iPad came, it had troubling issues with maintaining a stable wireless connection and Apple has already promised a fix from iOS 4.2, but that didn’t really solve the problem according to some owners of iPad. Now that the brand new second generation iPad is out in the hands of the public, it seemed that the same issue has haunted Apple’s new iPad 2 yet again. Holding it wrong? Not sure about that, but there’s a huge number of complaints from users over at Apple’s forum right now. Have you got your iPad 2? How’s the WiFi?

Can’t tell any difference between my iPad 1 and iPad 2 and iPhone with WiFi. The antenna is not as strong as my laptop, so in my bedroom I get full signal on my laptop but only half signal on my iPads and iPhone.

This is what happens then functionality is sacrificed in the name of design. That’s the characteristic flaw with anything out of Apple. It’s sexier than it is functional. I still can’t justify spending the kind of dough needed for any iPad. I’m sorry. I just don’t see it.

well, the iPad is very thin at less than 1cm, so if the wifi signal is weak i wont be surprise, unless you’re saying a very very weak signal with very frequent drop then the issue would be big.

many has replaced their laptops with iPads, as Anand Lai Shrimp said, the iPad is the new ThinkPad. you can surf youtubes or read articles online, even check your mail easily, but anything more keyboard-oriented tasks and you’d be better off with a laptop, or even a netbook.

give or take, it has its purpose, although i see the iPad as a luxurious gadget more than a necessity.

FYI,the Acer Aspire One is a netbook. Atom processor, can’t expect much. Moreover, the earlier batch Aspire One uses the early SSD that had some issues which made it extremely slow and laggy.
