We’ve seen boutiques customizing iPhones and iPads with gold and diamond to woo some wealthy customers, and since the launch of iPad 2, such practices are expected, though I didn’t expect it to arrive this early. Here’s a new iPad 2 made up of diamonds, gold, rocks, and T-Rex dinosaur bones, and some magical sparkle of Harry Potter, and it’s quite eye catching really.
Designed by Stuart Hughes, known for crafting luxurious products, there’s only 2 such masterpiece. The back which is made up of 24ct gold with an immense weight of 2000 grams has a magnificent total of 53 individually set sparkling gems dwell beautifully in solid 24ct Apple logo.
Front frame is made from the oldest rock the world has to offer (75 million years old) in the form of Ammolite. What makes it more individual is 65 million year old T-REX Dinosaur’s thigh bone which was splintered and then shaved into the Ammolite, then finished off with ultimate jewel, as single cut 8.5ct flawless diamond inlaid in its own platinum surrounded with 12 outer flawless diamonds.
And even if you think the iPad 2 is overpriced, you’ve seen nothing yet. The boutique is asking for 5 million EURO for this iPad 2!
Apple released iOS 4.3 about 2 weeks ago, which is a day earlier than the launch of the iPad 2. A very much welcome update for many as it adds the highly anticipated wireless hotspot to non CDMA iPhone 4 owners, besides other features like better AirPlay and AirPrint and multi-task finger gesture.
However, the hidden agenda in this iOS 4.3 update is that it sucks up more of your battery life than the earlier builds. According to topics started over at the Apple Discussions boards, many a user is experiencing a drop of anywhere from 2 to 4 hours less than before the update was applied, which is already quite painful as many iPhone users charge their phones every day.
Apple hasn’t given any official statement just yet at the moment, as usual from Apple. Our handsome JoJo who had iOS 4.3 on the first day says that his is still running very healthy, though his phone is always plugged in at home and at work so that might be the reason why.
Google Nexus S was announced with quite some hype back in December, and after 3 months it finally arrives in our shores thanks to Maxis.

Internally, it is powered by the same processor that was used in the original Samsung Galaxy S – the 1GHz Hummingbird processor (Samsung S5PC110) together with 512MB of dedicated RAM and 16GB of internal flash storage. Other features include 4.0-inch Super AMOLED contour display with a maximum resolution of 800×400 pixels, a VGA front facing camera and 5-megapixel auto focus rear camera complete with LED flash.

Someone said that he’s fulfilled your dreams. Ah, I wonder how true that is. You see, a certain Tan Sri Dato (Dr) Francis Yeoh said that he’s made Mr Steve Jobs’s dream come true by making Apple’s FaceTime applicable on his 4G’s network. Yes, Tan Sri Dato (Dr) Francis Yeoh is the Managing Director of YTL Group and Wing K. Lee, the CEO of YTL Communications which owns the Yes 4G network in Malaysia.
When Apple launched FaceTime together with the iPhone 4 back last year, it made video calling simple for everyday Jane and Joe and everyone was happy, but the application isn’t perfect. As we all know, FaceTime is only applicable through Wi-Fi networks, which means you can’t FaceTime your friends and family members through your 3G cellular network.
But now, Tan Sri Dato (Dr) Francis Yeoh says that you can.
Last Friday HTC Corporation Malaysia announced the brand new HTC Incredible S, which will be arriving in April. The launch was held along with the launch of HTC Training Cube, located at Cubic Platforms at Sunway Giza mall.
The HTC Incredible S will be available at all DiGi Centres and Specialized Stores at a subsidised price with contract, and you can pre-order yours now, though DiGi hasn’t disclosed the monthly price yet. The HTC Incredible S will be available from HTC authorised retailers at an RRP of RM 1,999.00.
Porsche has finally and officially announced that the 918 Hybrid Spyder will be up for booking. This is very different from the 918 RSR, as this will be road legal. What’s so special about this Spyder? Well, it’s a plug-in hybrid vehicle that will boast over 500 ponies running for you with its 4-Litre V8 engine and two electric motors capable of a combined 218 ponies while you hug the world’s tree in green style.
Porsche says the hybrid powertrain will consume a mere 3 litres of fuel per 100 kilometres – or around 78 mpg. The German automaker hasn’t released any fuel economy estimates based on U.S. testing standards, though EPA figures are said to be on the way. Look for the gas-electric Porsche supercar to touch down on U.S. soil by late 2013.
Of course, I’d expect the queue to be full by now. The automaker says that it’s only planning to build 918 examples of the vehicle and that each of them will carry a lofty price tag of $845,000 EXCLUDING destination and handling.
