Silverstone Grandia GD06 HTPC Case
March 17th, 2011
The big daddy of aluminium computer chassis manufacturer Silverstone has announced a new HTPC case called the Grandia GD06. The dimension is said to be measuring at 440mm x 150mm x 340mm and weighs only 5.6kg. Not exactly light, but do remember that the chassis is made of aluminium, which gives it a rather posh look. The case supports mini-ITX, mini-DTX and micro ATX motherboards, and features a front aluminum door, a front-placed I/O panel with 2x USB 3.0 and audio ports, one external 5.25-inch drive bay, four internal 3.5-inch drive bays, one internal 2.5-inch drive bay or SSD and has three 120mm silent fans (2x on the right side, 1x on the left). The Grandia GD06 is now available for €120.30 (about $167). SOURCE via Silverstone Audi treats aluminium like Play-Doh in new A6 ad

The new Audi A6 that was revealed at Detroit earlier this year was beautiful, but Audi makes it even more special by calling its body “hybrid aluminium chassis”. Not sure what that means, but according to the German company, it’s a new unibody structure that helps increase the interior room without suffering a weight or rigidity penalty, thus you get better fuel economy yet optimum performance and safety. But explaining that to common Joe and Jack and Beng is quite literally impossible, so Audi let their marketing team do the magic trick. The ad turns slabs of aluminium into an easily malleable material able to be stretched and formed into any shape, allowing the audience to draw easy parallels between the sculpting on screen and the work of the automaker’s engineers. Also makes it sound very fun to develop a car, as I’m sure the kids will love it. No more Cloverfield-style videos in YouTube, all thanks to “deblotched”

YouTube has been one of the most important sites on the net, and fascinating as well for what it is, what’s more after the many improvements that it gets after being acquired by Google. Having 1080P video streaming from YouTube to your home TV is one awesome thing, but now YouTube is going to be even better. Your video cam doesn’t have an image stabilizer feature, and you’re ashamed of it? No problem, as YouTube will help you ‘stabilize’ it. Apple postpones iPad 2 launch in Japan
March 17th, 2011
Japan is still in an alarming state after its Sendai coast had been hit by a tsunami caused by an 8.9 magnitude earthquake last Friday, the same day Apple launch its iPad 2 in US (not saying anything, really). Japan is still struggling to contain radiation leak from its nuclear power plant in Fukushima. Samsung Galaxy Player 4 and 5 coming in Spring
March 17th, 2011
It’s previously known as the Galaxy S WiFi, but now we have official information about this PMP. Imagine it as a Samsung Galaxy S, but with all its 3G and “hello hello baby” stripped off from it, and still having its Android behaviour intact. Here are Samsung’s portable media players, and it comes with two variants, a 4-inch Galaxy Player 4, and a 5-inch Galaxy Player 5. Very much like a downsized tablet. It’ll be heading to US this spring, though price is still relatively unknown. The player will have full Market access and will come with Froyo preloaded. Samsung does mention that Gingerbread will be available very shortly after. Samsung Series 9 supermodel laptop on sale now at $1,699
March 17th, 2011
This laptop gained quite some publicity during CES 2011 for being a true MacBook Air contender. Having the sexily slim ‘duralumin’ build and a power to show, everyone was waiting for it. Now, Samsung has officially made this 13-inch laptop available worldwide. The 13.3-inch laptop comes with the latest Core i5-2537M processor, a 128GB SSD, 4GB of RAM, and Windows 7 Home Premium for a price of $1,649, or you can have it preloaded with Windows 7 Professional for $1,699. However, let’s not forget its beautiful body, and the 400nit display panel. The 13-inch model will be up for grabs at Best Buy, Tiger Direct, Amazon, and a number of other e-tailers. The 11-inch model will be arriving shortly in a few weeks’ time, sporting a 64GB SSD and a much disappointing Core i3-380UM processor with 2GB of memory. Of course, it’s lighter as it’s weighted at 2.3-pound, and is predicted to be priced lower than its bigger bro, at roughly $1,149. Motorola Xoom officially priced at $599, shipping on March 27

Motorola finally gave in and gave a press release statement. The WiFi-only Motorola Xoom will be available on March 27th for $599. Retail availability will be truly widespread, with Amazon, Best Buy, Costco, RadioShack, Sam’s Club, Staples and Walmart all offering up the Honeycomb tablet. Other than the omission of the 3G and 4G radios of the original Xoom, you’re basically looking at an identical hardware package. That includes a 1GHz NVIDIA Tegra 2 processor, 1GB of RAM, 32GB of storage, a 5 megapixel autofocus camera, and a 10.1-inch display with 1280 x 800 resolution. Let’s not forget the most important thing about this tablet, and that is a fresh Honeycomb OS, which gives you a truly Google Experience. |
