Did you wake up at 3AM and queue up at 5th Avenue and went through the soaking wet weather just to buy your brand new iPad? If not, then you’d better hope someone you know did, and are buying you one. Because Apple’s online store is showing delays of up to two to three weeks for the slate. That’s right boys and girls; the earliest time you can get yours in your doorstep is in April.

Pioneer, a leading brand when it comes to audiophile and AV products, has joined Apple’s AirPlay bandwagon. Here’s their first AirPlay-enabled product, the VSX-1021 AV receiver. It’s the first of eight AirPlay receivers from Pioneer for this year.
It’s a 7.1 channel affair that supports wireless playback of iTunes libraries so long as you fork over a few extra dollars for the AS-WL300 wireless LAN adapter. You’ll also need an iPhone, iPad, iPod touch or a Mac / PC with iTunes 10.1+, and the new AVR should show up immediately as an available AirPlay device.
Pioneer will happily sell you one for $549.

Hate the experience of running out of juice on your phone while in a critical time? We feel you, and PowerKiss feel you too, and they’re about to eliminate that problem, hopefully. PowerKiss has joined with airport seating supplier Zoeftig to create furniture for public places like airports, hotels, restaurants and conferences, which is able to charge cell phones. PowerKiss makes a small receiver (the Ring), which plugs into cell phones, and an electrical transmitter, which is built into a piece of furniture like a table, so that you can have a chat with your client while still charging your phone, and not leaving them in your room or far away. You can place your cell phone on the table and it charges wirelessly.

Here’s a very awkward bike, or ‘trike’ as the creator called it, and it does look awful to ride. The EX Trike, designed and built by Nils Ferber, Sebastian Auray, Ruben Faber and Ludolf von Oldershausen. It’s a concept, and it’s actually not very bizarre if you think about it. By using two 18-volt screwdrivers as the ‘engine’ to spin the drivetrain, the “EX” accelerates its rider up to a very fast 30km/h. That’s actually faster than your usual cycling pace, unless you’re going downhill. Read more…

These days more people are using LED for their home lights, due to them being very power saving, and very flexible. If you’re a creative head like Adam Wendel, then you’ll be able to have weird shapes lights, like this Modular LED Concept. Designed by Adam Wendel, the Modular LED concept allows users to create the perfect arrangement depending on size or intention. The shape gives them a futuristic and elegant look. Suspended from the ceiling or adapted to a table lamp base, the object can live 2-dimensionally or the components can be rotated and conjoined creating a unique 3-D form. Having the aesthetic look while still able to provide optimum lighting source to whichever part of the room that you need. Creative? Oh yes!

It’s a new year, and everyone’s launching new model or refreshing old ones. Panasonic unveiled its Lumix point-and-shoot lineup in January for the year 2011, but they never really gave any price point. But now the wait is over as the DMC-ZS10, DMC-ZS8, DMC-TS3 and DMC-FX78 are all being officially priced this week. All but the ZS8 supports the company’s new 3D Photo mode, which produces a realistic 3D photo by taking 20 consecutive photos and overlaying the two best images to provide a 3D image that can then be played on a Panasonic VIERA 3D HDTV. The format of the 3D image is compatible with MPO, and can also be played back on other MPO-compatible equipment such as a televisions, digital photo frames and printers.
