March 5th, 2011
Steelseries is taking advantage of CeBIT 2011 to announce three new products, and they’re all headsets for gamers. First of is the new Siberia v2 for PS3. It’s compatible with the PS3, Xbox 360, PC, and Mac, featuring 50mm driver units, leather earcups, and a retractable microphone, which I think is awesome for clumsy people like me. Saves space, more durable, and looks cool too.
Google Maps updated to v5.2
March 5th, 2011
There might be a few numbers of navigation, but none actually manage to outshine Google Maps Navigation. Well, the trustworthy Google Maps has just been updated to version 5.2. This new update comes with three major changes. First of all, the new edition allows users to tweet their reviews of places and share recommendations with Hotpot friends. Next up, there’s Latitude pinging, which enables you to send a quick message to a nearby Latitude friend rather than having to use a text or call; they’ll receive an Android notification from you asking them to check in at a place, and when they check in using your request, you’ll get a notification right back so you know which place to go to meet up with them. Finally, a new ‘Search More Places’ button has been added under the standard list of places to check in at, which ought to prove helpful in highly congested cities with multiple places stacked atop one another. Hit that Android Market link below to get your update going, and if you’re fixing to use that new ping feature, you and your friends will need v5.2. March 5th, 2011
Well, much like the company did when it suddenly dropped the price of its original iPhone; Apple is giving $100 back to those who purchased an iPad up to a fortnight before the March 2nd unveiling of the iPad 2. If our math is correct, that makes February 16th the cut-off date, and it’s being reported that those in the US will see $100 placed back on their credit card, while those overseas will get £100 / €100 back in their pocket. Very much unlike the iPhone example, this is cold, hard cash that’s being returned, not some ‘Apple Store Credit’ joke. If you’ve suddenly found yourself in this pool, you’ll need to head back to a brick-and-mortar location with your receipt to get the refund processed, or if you ordered online, you’ll need to call Apple’s 1-800 numbers and use your smoothest late-night voice when asking nicely for your cold hard cash. Good luck! SOURCE via CNET BMW presents a sneak peak video of the next M5
March 5th, 2011
The F10 BMW 5 series has been around for over a year now, but still its evil side hasn’t shown up yet. Yes, we’re talking about the F10 BMW M5. A highly acclaimed powerful sports sedan, “that’s a bold business car, with a touch of a button, you have a sports car”. BMW is well aware that many are waiting for this new successor, which despite getting tested for such a long time, still hasn’t shown up in the show room. Fortunately for Bimmer-addicts everywhere, the automaker has been so kind as to serve up a teaser video of the new menace frolicking through the snow. Italdesign Giugiaro launches free iPad app
March 5th, 2011
There’s a new app in town, and it’s Italdesign Guigiaro, named after the company itself. If you’ve not heard who they are, then you’re probably not a car enthusiast. Italdesign Guigiaro is a famed coachbuilder and industrial design studio. The new iPad app tracks the history of this famous design house since its founding by Giorgetto Giuguaro in 1968. March 4th, 2011
During launch, Samsung Galaxy S II is said to be running on Samsung’s own Exynos dual-core processor, but medias soon spotted some Galaxy S II powered by Nvidia’s Tegra 2 processor, which sparks some confusion. Now it is confirmed, that due to low yield of the Exynos processor unable to sate the high demand of the Galaxy S II, Samsung will be getting help from Nvidia to fill up the supply gap. There will be a version of Samsung’s 4.3-inch Galaxy S II Android smartphone relying on a dual-core Tegra 2 chip, which runs at the same 1GHz as Exynos and offers comparable performance. The decision as to which part you’ll get in your next Samsung smartphone will depend on which territory you’re in, with US and UK having a high chance of getting the Exynos processor version.
