Water block available for AMD HD 6990.

Water block available for AMD HD 6990.

Dual-GPU cards will only be catered towards the enthusiasts and extreme gamers’ market, as not many would actually want to fork out so much money just for a computer system. But those that would go to such extreme would be extreme gamers and enthusiasts, and they would usually want the best system, which would usually include a custom water cooling system too.

Just weeks after AMD officially announce their dual-GPU Radeon HD 6990 graphic card, EK has reviewed their EK water-block for AMD’s HD 6990, dubbed the EK-FC6990. The waterblock uses a massive piece of copper to cover the HD 6990 from end to end as well as an improved internal design with more fins that should allow for lower operation temperatures and increased overclocking headroom.

Valve to invade iOS and Android platform?

March 28th, 2011

Valve to invade iOS and Android platform?According to Gabe Newell of Valve, the company is looking at the possibility of extending their Steam platform into iOS and Android platforms. A gaming service like Steam has done wonders on the PC and Mac; and with mobile gaming already having solid ground on the phones, PMPs and tablets, it seems only natural.

If Valve were to pursue Steam for mobile platforms, it could likely do so on Android. After all, Amazon just launched its own app store this week. iOS, on the other hand would be rather tough for Valve to venture into, as Apple won’t want to give up any of its app selling control, as well let anything threaten its Game Center service.

Besides this, according to a member of the Steam forums community that visited the Valve office, Steam will also be introducing a new video recorder feature which will let you easily record your gaming session without the needs for apps like Fraps. Prepare for lots of YouTube uploads.

Mobile internet on the move

March 28th, 2011

We all have hectic lives and daily schedules that are often challenging when it
comes to juggling work and personal activity. So one of the best things about having
access to mobile internet on the move is the ability to catch-up with online matters
whenever it’s convenient.

Mobile broadband has been something of a revelation for many of us, and thanks to
an array of deals being available, computing on the move can now be done relatively
cheaply too. There are lots of different packages to be found in this very competitive
marketplace that allow you to catch up with online chores (or simply browse the
web for fun!) via laptops, smartphones, tablets or all three.

Finding a deal

When it comes to mobile internet on the move you are essentially able to choose
from two different routes, with pay-as-you-go being a good option for people who
need to watch their finances. The other option is a contract deal, and this can often
give you a more flexible usage plan but will involve signing up for a fixed-term,
which is not for everybody. Read more…

iPad 2 glass more resistant to bend, still doesn’t prove anything

March 26th, 2011

Apple made lots of tiny changes to the second generation that we didn’t notice. Besides having dual-core and 30-percent thinner and new cameras and stuff, they actually made the iPad 2’s display glass slightly thinner, by 27-percent. But what does that mean? Well, the iPad 2’s glass is more resistant to bend, as shown by iFixyouri’s test. The glass is also more resistant to drop, as it didn’t break even after a few attempted drops.

Nintendo 3DS flies off shelves across UK

For some it might be the day you get your iPad 2 lineup exercises as usual of an Apple product launch, but for some diehard fans of Nintendo, it’s the most anticipated day of the year, or month at least. The Nintendo 3DS finally arrives in the United Kingdom, supported by some 1,000 retail outlets and some 600 special midnight openings, and one of the strongest ever line ups for a new console, capable of contending those from Apple and Sony.

Of course, the handheld console doesn’t just come itself. What are consoles without games? The Nintendo 3DS came with the usual Nintendo cute pet simulator Nontendogs + Cats, and Pilotwings Resort. Well, obviously that’s not all.
