Intel leaked roadmap shows arrival of X58 successor end of this year

It looks like the successor to the X58 is confirmed to arrive at the end of this year, if this roadmap of Intel is accurate. The leaked picture above shows the roadmap of Intel, and it shows that we can expect to see the Sandy Bridge E-series in Q4 of 2011.

By turns, the 22nm Ivy Bridge is slated for a somewhat less specific release in the first half of 2012. We’ll likewise see the new Pentium and Celeron-based Sandy Bridge models in Q3 this year, and the Atom-equipped Cedarview in Q4.

The roadmap also gives us a rather vague glimpse at pricing for the chipsets, and from what we gather we can expect the E-series to sport a very hefty price tag, and Cedarview will be the value sector.

The sandy bridge is one hell of a chip I can tell you that much. Although the x58 i7 9xx line is still pretty heavy duty!
