This is the new Lara Croft, which is more serious, more realistic, and simply trying to survive from the hordes of family enemies and rivals and bandits. Even the title is simple. It’s called ‘Tomb Raider’, and that’s it.

Last time, Tomb Raider used to be simple and fun, with her fake boobs making huge number of gamers fantasizing things. But due over time where more games are developed, the shadows of Tomb Raider has slowly faded away. But Lara Croft seemed to be back this time, for real.

The game is said to be more physics-based puzzles and platforming. Lara will also be able to exhibit a “survival instinct” that will let her see helpful items in her world, according to early accounts of Tomb Raider previews flooding the Tomb Raider Forums web site.

The game is reportedly taking influence from the likes of Half-Life 2, Assassin’s Creed and Uncharted for some of its new mechanics, drawing influence from films like Batman Begins and 127 Hours for its themes.

This sure brings back memories. Hopefully they also bring along the awesome mechanism and graphics of Eidos’s products.
