Right, the story of Lenovo’s ThinkPad Honeycomb tablet goes on. This time however, the rumour gets a slight twist. The ThinkPad tablet is said to be 10.1-inch in size, but this tablet that we’re going to talk about is a 7-inch Honeycomb tablet. This is the LePad from Lenovo. Remember Lenovo saying that they will not release a tablet until Google has a proper tablet OS? Now that they have Honeycomb, Lenovo is preparing a 7-inch Honeycomb tablet.
Their ThinkPad tablet is powered by the Nvidia Tegra 2 SoC as usual, but this time around, the 7-inch device is powered by a dual-core ARM processor, possibly the same processor used by HTC’s dual-core Sensation 4G. If this is true, then this LePad will be the first non-Tegra 2 tablet to run on Honeycomb. Remember that HTC’s 7-inch Flyer? That didn’t run on Honeycomb because it’s not powered by Nvidia. I guess the rumour of ‘Google and Nvidia’s secret deal to make Honeycomb run only on Tegra 2’ will end at here.
Of course, it’ll not be pure Honeycomb all the way. There’s the Le OS from Lenovo, with the presence of the “Lenovo family UI”. The tablet is said to come in fall, but is yet to be confirmed.

Haters gonna hate. Lucky Portuguese are getting their super slim Galaxy Tab 10.1 today, as Vodafone Portugal’s website has listed the brand new Honeycomb tablet from Samsung, the new slimmer version Galaxy Tab 10.1v with a very generous price of €589.90 ($860). This price is of course unsubsidised and with no contracts. The tablet is said to be available from April 26th. Vodafone Netherlands is the only other EU country in Vodafone’s list that has this product listed too, but the date is listed as “week 17”, which means any time between now and May 1st. Well Europeans, looks like you’ll have a ‘tablet-ful’ Labor’s Day this weekend.

These day router manufacturers are going the trendy and aesthetic way to design their products. Gone are the days where routers stand tall with antennas that look like they’re ready to shoot down incoming jet fighters. We started seeing cool looking wireless routers from Linksys and Cisco that has antenna-less designs, and then Belkin followed along. Now it’s time for the Netgear trend.
Their latest WiFi router is called the N750, because it’s capable of speed up to 750Mbps. Unbelievable? Yes, it’s fake. This dual-band 802.11a/b/g/n router can hit speeds of 450Mbps over the 5GHz band and 300Mbps at 2.4Ghz, for an “aggregate combined data rate” of 750Mbps. Reality speaking you won’t be able to achieve such speed, especially if two or more devices are connected to the router. You can connect one device in either band without dragging down the transfer rate of the other, but if you got more devices connected to the same band, and it’ll go down again.
The N750 also includes a ReadySHARE USB port for network storage, parental controls, and a price to brag. Yes, this thing will only cost you $150. Bloody cheap bargain yet again from Netgear! Kudos!

Whenever we heard of Acer’s laptops, all we can think of are budget laptops. Not like that’s a bad thing, but apparently the board isn’t very happy with that. Remember Acer saying that they want to take on the likes of Apple and Sony and HP? Well, it seems that they have taken the initiative, at least, to move a step forward in doing so.
DigiTimes has a source saying that Acer will be using LG’s Shuriken display in their upcoming 14.1-inch laptop. But what’s special about this? Well, the laptop is said to be no bigger than that of a 13.3-inch model, despite having a 14.1-inch display.
That’s because the Shuriken’s panel will require less bezel (8mm instead of 12mm) and less thickness, slimming itself down to just 4mm. LG already has the 12.5-inch Xnote P210, which would seem to be employing similar technology, so it’s not a stretch to believe the company’s war on bezels has stepped up to the 14-inch size class.
Acer is expected to launch this new laptop as early as next month, though the cost of the Shuriken displays is cited as the reason they haven’t been taken up more widely yet, but that’s the price to pay for going upscale I guess.

It seemed that Apple’s cloud-based music service is getting surreal. Apple has just signed Warner Music to its cloud-based music service, a deal which should see the label’s music available in its upcoming streaming iTunes service. This is in addition to last week’s confirmation that two major labels signed on, though it’s unclear whether Warner is part of the pair or is, indeed, a third. If what we heard is real, then that might leave only one of the major labels left unsigned, or Apple’s keeping things secret until WWDC 2011.

There are still about a week or so between now and May, when Samsung will launch their next flagship Android smartphone, the Samsung Galaxy S II, worldwide. But they’re not slacking in between these times, and have already spent quite some time on commercials to make sure that you know how slim their new smartphone is. But that’s not all, Samsung wants you to particularly know why slim are important, and how slim profile truly becomes practical by showing you a particular usage scenario.
But there’s one odd thing about their commercial videos on YouTube. Note the barely readable small print “Thickness of the device may differ by country or carrier.” I literally LOL on that statement. Looks like shipping one Galaxy S II to different continents with different weather and atmosphere will affect the fatness of the smartphone.
So remember, just because you and your buddy from across the world are both buying a product with an excruciatingly specific title like Samsung Galaxy S II doesn’t mean you’ll both get the same thing. All that said, the 8.49mm-thick version of the device is ready to wow you on video just past the break.
We’re very anxious to see the arrival of this new smartphone, and to measure how thick it is in our country where majority of the species here loves eating fatty food like nasi lemak.

These new Blu-ray players from Mitsubishi have the latest features you can get from the market, like 3D Blu-ray, BDXL, AVCREC, and VOD support. But their intensive feature list isn’t the main selling point, or feature, of these new players that are set to be the top notch of home entertainment. What’s more fascinating is the accessory that’s tagging along the package. These new Blu-ray players have dual-faced remote, just like Two Face. It seemed that manufacturers are getting more focused on their remotes these days, as we can see from Samsung, LG, Sony, Boxee, and even Google TV’s insane remote with gazillion of buttons. These remotes from Mitsubishi has a side that controls the TV and the other does the DVR, while a built-in sensor lets the system know which side you’re using. The DVR-BZ450, DVR-BZ350, and DVR-BZ250 are pretty much identical, save for internal storage, which ranges from 500GB to 2TB. All are due out in Japan on May 31st — no word on when the rest of the world will be able to get our hands on the latest technology, also, the irony of losing two remotes at the same time.
