Intel Atom is so yesteryear! Smartphones are going dual-core with 1080p 30fps playback capability, yet packed with such small package in smartphones that it totally shamed Intel’s once-popular x86 processor. Now the netbook age is taking on an even greater essence in the form of AMD’s latest Fusion technology.
Acer has just launched their new the Aspire One 722, an 11-inch mini with an aesthetic and modern curve. Like the D257 shown in Barcelona, its lid is made of molded plastic, sculpted to resemble a series of ripples.
Spec-wise, it has the same innards as the more staid-looking Aspire One 522, pairing AMD’s netbook-class 1GHz C-50 Ontario processor with Radeon HD 6250 graphics. But the 722 improves on the 10-inch 522 with higher 1366 x 768 resolution, two speakers instead of one, and rated battery life of up to seven hours — a boost over the 522′s six-hour max.
No price and availability announcement just yet, but I’m pretty sure it’ll be very soon.

It seem that Toshiba themselves are also not fond of their Honeycomb tablet being called the Ant. “Hey mate, gooday, say, I want to buy an Ant!” Right, that’s going to sound rather blurry. Good news, as Toshiba may just skip that name and call it another thing altogether.
Toshiba just filled a trademark application for the name “Thrive” last week and, as you can see above, it clearly describes the goods and services being trademarked as a tablet computer.
What’s more, it seems that the company’s also gone on a bit of a domain name buying spree as of late, with it snapping up a number of “Thrive” variations including ToshibaThrive.com, ThriveTablet.com, ThriveToshiba.com and TabletThrive.com (none of which actually go anywhere just yet).
Of course, this isn’t the first possible moniker for the tablet that’s cropped up. The name “Antares” surfaced way back at Mobile World Congress, which could account for the ANT model name we also spotted, although it certainly sounds more like a codename than “Thrive” does to our ears. What’s more, Toshiba hasn’t go and trademark this “Antares” name and hasn’t go and sapu all those URLs related to “Antares”.

Right, many people are going to call this stupid, and that they never went to physics class. But we all should never forget that Top Gear always does thing for the lulz. Every truck, even heavy duty ones also have their tow rating, and you should never go beyond that. But what happens when you put a standard-duty pickup truck up against something truly monumental, like a 600-tonne truck? Well, the view is indeed spectacular.

I used to watch lots of MotoGP race when I was a kid during the Michael Doohan and Kenny Roberts Jr. era, then slowly shifted over to Formula One during the Michael Schumacher era. It’s been quite some time since I last watch Valentino Rossi going untouchable in MotoGP, but they still seem to be more dramatic and dangerous than watching the boring Formula One.
A great example would be this ‘just concluded’ World Supersport race at Assen last weekend. Both Sam Lowes and Alexander Lundh took away broken bones after separate incidents that caused marshals to bring out the red flag each time. Lowes highsided his machine while jousting with championship-leader Luca Scassa and eventual race-winner Chaz Davies. Despite the brutality of the crash, lucky Lowes only suffered a broken collar bone and a mild concussion. He’s expected to be back in the saddle for the next series event in Monza.
Lundh, meanwhile, managed to find himself tangled up in an incident only two laps into the first restart of the race. The racer lost control of his machine after Marko Jerman highsided in front of him. Shortly after going down, Lund was hit by a third bike, resulting in a broken wrist. Jerman, meanwhile, escaped with only bumps and bruises.
Watching them going low-ride zipping through corners are already a scary feat, but looking at how Lowes flipped gives me chill. This not only needs skill, but you also got to be a daredevil to race in MotoGP.

I’m sure many of you should’ve heard of the violent game called the Grand Theft Auto. But here’s something awesome made by a fan of this game. I think calling him a ‘fan’ is under-rated. We should call him the director! Grand Theft Auto IV player / enthusiast Mathieu Weschler spent two years making The Trashmaster, a feature-length ‘film’ made entirely in the game, about a garbage man who has another gig on the side. Man, you guys must check this movie out!

It’s the Vietnamese again, leaking some new juicy news of Apple’s product. This time it’s a white iPhone 4 that may hit stores very soon. But it’s not just a white iPhone 4, the phone is also loaded with a “test version” of iOS that the world has yet to see. Of course, there’s no way to prove the legitimacy of this iOS as what is shown here may well be just an awesome jailbreak mode.
With that said, the multitasking menu shown here substitutes the current use of apps’ icons to represent them with a visual of each app’s open window, just like in Android. You can tap on a window to expand it (replete with animation) to fill the screen or long-press on it to bring up the familiar “x” button for shutting it down.
This is all accompanied by a new “Search iPhone” dialog at the very top, which sends you into Spotlight search that looks very much the way it currently does (though it seems to no longer be accessible with a left swipe from the first homescreen as on previous versions of iOS).
Apparently the white iPhone 4 shown here not only has a new iOS, but also sports a 64GB storage capacity shown by the Settings menu. Apparently app folder creation is also handled a little differently from iOS 4. The presence of the Touch Fighter app on this phone, which Apple built to show off the capabilities of earlier versions of the handset, and other internal-looking software, seems to point to this indeed being some form of iOS beta build.
Watch the two videos after the jump.

Do you like the idea of filling up your car once every two months, and it still works like normal car? Even better if you don’t have to fill up the petrol at all?
There’s a few EV in the market right now. There’s the gimmicky Tesla Model S and the Tesla Roadster Sport, and the very humble Nissan Leaf. Also there’s the upcoming Ford Focus Electric which seem to be very attractive. But let’s not forget the upcoming BMW i-Cars. Well, which is suitable for you, and how are you going to make up your mind?
BMW has a nice little app for the iPhone and Android, called the ActiveE. It’s a brilliantly simple little app, this. You type in your area code, agree to some terms (including the option for BMW to track your usage) and then every time you set out on a drive, it logs your trip, mileage, time and fictional range to determine if an all-electric vehicle is right for you.
