Samsung Galaxy S and Galaxy Tab to get Gingerbread update in mid-May

Remember that Samsung pulled their Gingerbread update for their Galaxy S and Galaxy Tab back in mid-April, under orders by Google? Well, it seemed that things have been sorted out, and Samsung is now ready to boot up Kies for another go at things.
The Korean electronics giant has announced that the company is ready to update its entire Galaxy S family line to Gingerbread (excluding those new ones that shipped with Gingerbread stock of course). They will start with models in the UK and Nordic countries from the middle of this month. The rest of the globe, including North America, will follow suit “according to the regional plan.”
Also tagging along for the Gingerbread upgrade will be the 7-inch Galaxy Tab (the original one, remember?), and the company’s bevy of budget Galaxy devices, the Ace, Gio, Fit and mini. Looks like Samsung didn’t neglect the small kids too.
