Choose 2 free games from a list of 5 for PSN users, and 2 free games from a list of 4 for PSP users

Sony had many things to explain regarding its PSN downtime and Qriocity downtime, but they’re also giving freebies to users of PSN as part of their “Welcome Back” program, under their “Customer Appreciation Program”. Thus far North America and Europe has their PSN lit up, but not for Japan and the rest of Asia though.

Aside from offering the previously announced free 30 days of PlayStation Plus for all PSN users, the company is giving away two free PlayStation 3 games and two free PlayStation Portable games, all from two lists of (mostly) wonderful releases. The European Union is being offered similar titles, with a few notable swaps.

There will also be free movies on the “Movie Rental” section on unspecified weekend in the coming weeks. Existing PlayStation Plus users will get additional 60 days of free subscription time, and also “100 free virtual items” for everyone.

North American “Customer Appreciation Program”:

“All PlayStation Network customers can select two PS3 games from the following list. The games will be available for 30 days shortly after PlayStation Store is restored and can be kept forever.

• Super Stardust HD
• Wipeout HD + Fury

For PSP owners, you will be eligible to download two PSP games from the following list. The games will be available for 30 days shortly after PlayStation Store is restored and can be kept forever.

-A selection of “On Us” rental movie titles will be available to PlayStation Network customers over one weekend, where Video Service is available. Those titles will be announced soon.

-Existing PlayStation Plus subscribers will receive an additional 60 days of free subscription.
-Existing Music Unlimited Premium Trial subscription members will receive an additional 30 days of free premium subscription.

-To welcome users Home, PlayStation Home will be offering 100 free virtual items. Additional free content will be released soon, including the next addition to the Home Mansion personal space, and Ooblag’s Alien Casino, an exclusive game.”
