Mach Xtreme MX-Katana Low-Profile SSD Modules looks innocently like a RAM

These days SSD may not come in 2.5-inch drive form already, as we’ve seen OCZ Revo PCI-Express SSD before. But now there’s also another new company that’s joining the PCI-Express SSD bandwagon, and that’s Mach Xtreme Technology.

Mach Xtreme Technology has just unveiled a new series of low-profile SSD modules, the MX-Katana. Coming in four different capacities: 60GB, 120GB, 240GB and 480GB, these SSD modules are equipped with MLC NAND Flash memory chips, a SATA 3.0 Gbps interface, a MTBF of 1 million hours and provide read and write speeds of up to 275MB/s and 225MB/s, respectively.

Not exactly the fastest around, as it’s still using the now-dated SATA II interface, but you do save space on your drive bay of your casing. Pricing and release date are still unknown at the moment, but if you really want something speedy, do consider COZ RevoDrive which is a lot more faster than this.
