More info about Assassin’s Creed Revelation revealed: Part 2 – Who you’ll meet

Assassin’s Creed Revelation will have new environment with new faces for us to see and to know. We’ll still be playing the role of Ezio, but things will be different from Assassin’s Creed II and Brotherhood, where most of the characters are repeated. This time Ezio is leaving home and chasing his “dream” and, in time, question things like the truth and meaning of life.

There will be fewer familiar faces this time around. Instead, Ezio’s adventures in Constantinople introduce a new cast of compelling characters, many of whom are based on real-life historical figures.

We’ve been playing Ezio for two games now, watching as he passed through birth, boyhood, and into maturity before our eyes. Boy he sure has grown up mature and a lady killer. But speaking of killer, Ezio’s path through life was governed by the desire for vengeance. Much of his family was killed. Later, his beloved Uncle Mario was brought down by the Borgias.

Until now, Ezio’s actions have been a response to these terrible crimes, and it’s all about killing. So what now, after all those are behind him? In Revelations, we see Ezio for the first time beginning to question his role in life. Caterina Sforza no longer is around, and our hero now has a new desire to have a family of his own.

By 1511, when Revelations is set, Ezio is seeking purpose and direction, particularly in his role at the head of the Assassin’s Order. He looks to his own ancestor to help find the answers – a man named Altaïr. Read more…

Ubisoft released teaser of Assassin’s Creed Revelation for E3, it’s now like a movie!

May 27th, 2011

Remember Ubisoft having their new Ubisoft Motion Picture arm established just weeks ago? Looks like they’ve been super busy ever since the establishment, and now a new teaser trailer for the upcoming game Assassin’s Creed Revelation has been released for E3, which is just around the corner.

So what do we have here? Well now the game looks part Hollywood movie part game, which might be a good and bad thing. We get to see more fancy stories and cut scenes, but then at times it really spoils the fun of the game, but I’m not complaining much.

Also, it seemed that Ezio was… captured during his ‘voyage’ to the ‘truth’, and his hidden blade was destroyed. A destroyed hidden blade, with no Leonardo Da Vinci (or is he here?) to amend the damage, what would happen to our now-matured hero?

More info about Assassin’s Creed Revelation revealed: Part 1 - Where you’ll be heading to

The Assassin’s Creed series has been very awesome due to its unique play style that lets you roam around freely and yet attached with a very catchy and cheesy storyline. Assassin’s Creed II and Brotherhood has been about Ezio Auditore, but little is known about Altair, the man in the original game. Revelation will be the important puzzle to link things together.

Game Informer has a list full of information regarding the upcoming game from Ubisoft, and today we will be looking through them while listening to Rebecca Black’s hippy song. Read more…

New Cray XK6 Supercomputer smashes record, wants to go mass

New Cray XK6 Supercomputer smashes record, wants to go mass

Apparently there is a race among the super duper elite super computer class, and the record has been smashed yet again. Cray is launching a new “humble” supercomputer namely the Cray XK6.

The highly anticipated new supercomputer will combine Cray’s Gemini interconnect, AMD Opteron 6200 Series processors (code-named “Interlagos”) and Nvidia Tesla 20-Series GPUs to create a tightly-integrated supercomputing system upgradeable to more than 50 petaflops (quadrillions of operations/second) of compute power.

Upgradeable from Cray XT4, Cray XT5, Cray XT6 or Cray XE6 systems, the Cray XK6 system is expected to be available in the second half of 2011. It can be configured in a single cabinet with tens of compute nodes, to a multi-cabinet system with tens of thousands of compute nodes.

The first customer inline for the a brand new Cray XK6 supercomputer is the Swiss National Supercomputing Centre (CSCS) in Manno, which develops and promotes technical and scientific services for the Swiss research community in the field of HPC.

ASUS preparing an ultraslim Eee PC ‘with a twist’ for Computex

ASUS preparing an ultraslim Eee PC 'with a twist' for Computex

Computex is just around the corner, and that means exciting times for hardware fans. Asus is said to be unveiling some new hardware (as usual), and here we are yet again, speculating what’s going to happen in the next few days.

Asus has released a new teaser for their Computex lineup, and this time it’s a “super-slim sensation [with] a twist.” Many are saying that it’s a super slim Eee PC, but what’s the “twist” here?

Notebook Italia has dug up the above image, which looks like a match for ASUS’ shadow-obscured teaser and shows what may very well be the thinnest Eee PC we’ve yet seen.

Last time ASUS was touting anything laptop-shaped that was quite so slim, it was the Neo smartbook prototype that never made it out of the labs, but this time manufacturers are getting more obsessed with slim products, so this may just be it. But still, where’s the twist?

ASUS Matrix GTX 580 and MARS II desktop graphics cards revealed to be crazy 3-PCI slot cards

ASUS Matrix GTX 580 and MARS II desktop graphics cards revealed to be crazy 3-PCI slot cards

It’s been quite some time since we saw any ‘extreme’ graphic cards from Asus, and there it was, a new and welcome news about Asus’s extreme enthusiast range of cards, something that they’re good at.

Asus is said to be preparing on the launch of two new cards at the upcoming Computex 2011 at Taiwan. The two cards are the MARS II and Matrix GTX 580. The Matrix will come in two flavors — standard and Platinum — both with 1.5GB of RAM and an enormous dual-fan cooling solution that eats up a jaw-dropping three PCI slots. I think I just jizzed.

Though we’ve yet to seen any pics of the MARS II, the 3GB, dual-GPU behemoth is bound to be even more massive — we wouldn’t be surprised if ASUS had to provide a breakout box for whatever cooler it strapped to those pair of GTX 580 cores. Why not just slap some waterblocks on these, since they’re most probably going to be bought by extreme enthusiasts anyway.

Prices are of course unavailable, yet, but seriously I can’t imagine the price for these two monsters.

More details of HTC Puccini unveiled

We already know that HTC is going to launch a new 10-inch Honeycomb tablet, but HTC never confirmed it, and never say anything about it. But now, we got better details of the slate from Taiwan.

According to DigiTimes, their source claims that the 10-inch, which is supposed to be called Puccini, will be powered by a dual-core 1.5GHz Qualcomm MSM8660. If this is so, then this tablet will be the first non-Tegra Honeycomb tablet.

The Puccini is said to be running on Android 3.0.1 operating system and a touchpanel that supports both resistive and capacitive touch technologies. Its touch pen will be able to work on specified software and areas.
