May 24th, 2011
It looks like more and more quality products are rolling out for the new Apple iPad 2. Acoustic Research has launched a new docking system for the new slate from Apple. It’s called the ARS35i. This docking station has a motorized moving arm that holds your iPad and can rotate it to a vertical or a horizontal position. The Acoustic Research ARS35i provides a video output port and an alarm clock function. Of course, it also supports the other iDevices like the iPods and the iPhones. The docking system will cost you $129.99, which isn’t really cheap, but considering the quality of this thing it is quite decent. Remember how the gang in Quantum of Solace do the multitouch thing? If you want to complete your daily tasks on your computer like how James Bond and the gang at MI6 do it, you’ll have to get this. Perceptive Pixel has just announced a new multitouch display, which is touted as the world’s first professional multitouch desktop display. The display features a 27-inch diagonal IPS (in-plane switching) LED-backlit LCD panel, with an impressive 2560 x 1440 resolution for the richest graphics, a decent 400cd/m2 brightness, a 1000:1 contrast ratio, a 6.5ms response time and a 178°/178° viewing angle. No word on pricing at this moment, but it does have the “professional” word tag on its name, so do expect the pricing to be very “professional” indeed. Being cool like double-0-seven has never been cheap anyway. SOURCE via Perceptive Pixel Logitec ‘Master Series of Japan’ External HDD Series is back with USB 3.0!

When you have a cool house with awesome interior, your house also deserves some advance technology appliances. Electronically controlled lights and fans, and advance security cameras, but what about your faucets? I’ve always have interest in cool looking faucets from Yanko Design, and this time there’s a new one again.
The Bamboo Fountain Faucet by Mickael Chrost looks like a bamboo stem. The faucet has a built-in digital thermometer for accurate water temperature, and a touch sensitive control panel to keep pace with your touchscreen phone and tablet.
Additionally, the water flow can be fortified with dietary elements like Calcium, Iron, and Potassium using special cartridges to make you strong and prepped up for the upcoming wars in Battlefield 3 and Modern Warfare 3. SOURCE via Yanko Design Asus to unveil new touchscreen tablet at Computex
May 24th, 2011
Asus is said to be unveiling a new tablet over at Taiwan Computex press conference on the 30th of May, which is just around the corner. Till now, Asus doesn’t have a proper tablet like the others. Will this be powered by Honeycomb, or Windows? Thus far, their Eee PC Transformer tablet has been selling very well, but it lacks the aesthetic feel that everyone is pursuing so Asus might be trying to achieve that through this new tablet. From the looks of it, the back has the same aluminum plate cover like the HTC Flyer. Well, we’ll have to wait until Computex to find out more about this tablet.
Samsung Galaxy Tab 8.9 now up for pre-order at Amazon Germany for €606.50
May 24th, 2011
Not exactly cheap but well it’s here for the Europeans to pre-order. Amazon.de has listed the 16GB Galaxy Tab 8.9 at their site for a price of €606.50, which is $852. Of course, the EU price is always slightly higher than other continents due to their VAT tax. Then again, it’s not clear whether we’re talking about the WiFi-only or 3G-equipped model. Notably, the Galaxy Tab 10.1 option is also listed alongside its 8.9-inch brethren, but there’s no price attached to it yet. Well, let’s just wait and see if Maxis or DiGi will bring this in for us in the next few months. SOURCE via Amazon.de Dell XPS 15z now available, less than an inch thick!

Dell’s new XPS laptop is finally here, and boy oh boy it sure looks sexy. Dell’s latest XPS, the 15z tries to mimic the success of Apple’s MacBook Pro, with anodized aluminum enclosure, which really makes the laptop very sexy, like Samsung’s 9-Series laptops. The 15-inch laptop weights at 2.51kg with only 0.97 inches thick (24.68mm) at its thickest point, making it very slim and slender. |
