Playboy goes online, full archive specially for iPad

As much as Steve Jobs is against nudity and porn on his iDevices, there isn’t much that he can about this latest creative idea from the Playboys. He may be able to stop people from submitting nudity or porn-related apps, but if people bypass that and instead uses his Safari browser to go to porn sites, it’s still a legit method, which is what Playboy is hoping for.

Playboy will be putting every page of its magazine back catalogue on its new i.Playboy.com site – including every cover, centrefold, picture and interview, plus all the serious investigative reporting that everybody claimed was the only reason they bought it. That comes to a total of over 130,000 pages since the magazine’s first issue in 1953 – which featured Marilyn Monroe. Users will be able to read, browse through and search the archive, which has been optimised for viewing on an iPad, making it ideal for reading in bed.

The iPlayboy site will only be available through a subscription, which will cost $8 a month, or $60 (just under £5, or just under £37).

Jimmy Jellinek, Playboy’s magnificently-named chief content officer, said that the new site would mean that the magazine’s fans would ‘no longer have to store 57 years – 682 issues – of Playboy under their mattress.’ Now that’s some good news eh?

Pac Man hoodie looks cool yet dorky, you jelly?

Pac Man hoodie looks cool yet dorky, you jelly?

Hipsters getting hippie, but I still think this jacket’s cool. This black (or blue, I can’t differentiate, dame!) lightweight jacket has its surface (all of em!!!) covered with a Pac-Man maze print. Yep. Add the integrated hoodie onto it, and some may even call you a dork when you wear this. But I still think this looks cool in some way (yep, call me a dork ;P). Street surfers will surely love this. The thing is up for grab at rock & roll t-shirt shop Hot Topic for $45, thought the shop has nothing to do with music at all.

Logitech Tablet Mouse exclusively for Android 3.1

Logitech Tablet Mouse exclusively for Android 3.1

Google announced that Android 3.1 Honeycomb will be coming this June, and Logitech has quickly jumped on board. Logitech today introduced a new wireless mouse, which is exclusively designed for use with Android tablets, though I’m not sure if there’s a need for such.

The Logitech Tablet Mouse connects to your Android 3.1-based tablet via Bluetooth, allowing you to use it anywhere within a radius of 30 feet from your tablet, transforming your tablet instantly into a compact desktop (if you got a wireless keyboard too).

What makes this mouse special is that it comes equipped with Laser precision, which means you’ll enjoy smoother tracking on just about any surface except on glass or mirrors. The Logitech Tablet Mouse retails for just $49.99 each. Worth it? I think I’ll stick to my finger for now though.

Logitech Tablet Keyboard For iPad And Android Tablet

It seemed that Logitech is starting to acknowledge the importance of tablet products and their market’s potential. Logitech has yet again prepared an iPad accessory, this time a wireless keyboard. But the wireless keyboard does not only support Apple’s iPad, but also Android tablets. Now that’s some smart move.

This keyboard-and-stand combo is designed to travel easily as it’s designed mainly for business users who travel often, as the keyboard can be set up quickly and add a touch of convenience to all the places you use your tablet.

The keyboard pairs easily with your tablet over Bluetooth wireless, allowing you to use it on your desk, lap or anywhere within 30 feet of your tablet. $69.99 is all you need to bring home the Logitech Tablet Keyboard

HP TouchPad 32GB priced at $599? That’s what Walmart said

HP TouchPad 32GB priced at $599? That’s what Walmart said

Right, we never knew how much HP is going to price their upcoming webOS tablets, which is crucial to see how they decide to compete in the tablet markets. But now, the price leak has been started by Walmart. Here’s a screenshot of Walmart’s database entry that shows the 32GB version of the webOS tablet priced at $599.

Besides the tablet, the Touchstone Dock is also priced at $80, $50 for a first-party case, $30 for a spare AC adapter and $70 for the official Bluetooth keyboard. Of course, that $599 price tag puts the 9.7-inch tablet squarely in the sights of Apple’s 32GB iPad 2.

Is it really ready to go up against the might fruit company?

Battlefield 3 Wake Island concept art looks awesome

Battlefield 3 Wake Island concept art looks awesome

This art concept above is the Wake Island air strip, which is one of the maps in the upcoming shooting game Battlefield 3. Looks awesome? It does. This is posted by DICE at their Battlefield 3 Facebook fanpage, which makes us wonder if this is actually an in-game print screen.

Wake Island air strip is one of the four maps included in the ‘Back to Karkand’ map pack. Back to Karkand comes free with Battlefield 3 pre-orders, and will be available to buy as separate DLC on release. Click the image above for a larger view of the concept art.

Xperia Play and Arc to get Android 2.3.4 update next week

Xperia Play and Arc to get Android 2.3.4 update next week

Looks like Sony Ericsson has kept to their promise. The just launched Xperia smartphones that are running Android 2.3 will be getting a brief update from the company, well according to Recombu at least.

It’s said that the Xperia Play and Xperia Arc will received an update to Android 2.3.4 next week. If this is true, then this makes the Xperia lineup the first non-Nexus to get such update. This update will also include the “Facebook inside Xperia” update, which is Sony Ericsson’s style of making Facebook integration.

Tis update promises to more deeply integrate your phone (including your calendar, contacts, and even music) with the social network. The company’s also confirmed that the Facebook integration will be included on all future Xperia phones, and it will be headed to all Xperia models released so far this year.
