HP working on more prototypes running on WebOS?

While Google works hard to have their Chrome OS overthrow Microsoft’s Windows domination, HP is also working hard to ditch Windows from their products. It started with their Palm products and tablets running on WebOS, and now HP is trying hard to have this half-baked operating system stuffed into more products or their own.

HP working on more prototypes running on WebOS?

A webOS dev spotted a pair unnamed devices in his log files — one sporting a 1024 x 768 screen and a non-sliding keyboard, and the other a smartphone with no physical QWERTY input. Of course, this is nothing big of a surprise, as HP has already openly announce that they’re striving hard to bring desktops and laptops into their WebOS realms, and already have a few netbooks prototyping the system.

So HP is now playing around with a device that’s bigger than a smartphone, and with physical keyboards, and the product is running a version of the WebOS called Nova Dartfish. The second product would be a mid-end or low-end smartphone with a resolution of merely 480 x 320 and is running WebOS 3.0. The logs also reveal that neither is packing a removable battery, which isn’t good news actually.

Can coke and mentos really make bottles fly? OH YESH SIR!!! LIKE A ROCKET!!!

Can

Mentos and coke, we’ve seen it before, and then again and again. Some says that you’ll die when eating both together. Others had lots of fun letting coke bottles fly like a NASA space shuttle. But this, my friend, this is the most epic ‘Mentos in a Coke’ video that I’ve ever seen.

And we’re back! Top Gear returns on June 12 for the 17th season!

And we're back! Top Gear returns on June 12 for the 17th season!

FINALLY! It’s back! The show that we’ve all been waiting for, the best motoring show on the planet! It’s back! Top Gear, the original UK motoring show featuring Jeremy ‘Jezza’ Clarkson, Richard ‘Hamster’ Hammond, and James ‘Captain Slow’ May, will be returning for the 17th season, and will begin airing on June 12. The report comes courtesy of the May issue of the Dutch edition of Top Gear magazine.

If you can’t remember, the hit BBC television program has been on break since the 16th season ended on February 27 with episode 6, in which Hammond drove the Porsche 959 and Ferrari F40, May tested NASA’s new lunar rover and Clarkson raced the sun in a Jaguar XJ.

So what can we expect from season 17? Hard to say – so far we know Clarkson and May have driven a pair of electric cars, we’ve heard the newly-crowned brother-in-law Prince Harry could be making his way to the Dunsfold Aerodrome (a.k.a. the Top Gear test track) and we’ve seen reports that the McLaren MP4-12C may have already claimed the fastest lap time on the board. For everything else, we’ll just have to wait (less than a month now, mind you) to find out.

A helicopter that rides like an S-Class

A helicopter that rides like an S-Class

Mercedes has always been associated with luxury sedans, chauffeuring VIPs around the world with their S-Class and Maybach. There’s even a pimped out Sprinter van if you need more space. But what about compact vehicles flying in the air for short trips in the city? I’m not talking about a private plane like the G6, I’m referring to a chopper.

A helicopter usually looks small and dull, and also slightly dangerous at times. But lots of 5-star people fly around using helicopters too, like how Bruce Wayne flies around with two chicks. That’s why the German automaker’s design studio has partnered with Eurocopter for this unique whirly-bird to let you arrive at your birthday party on the top floor of your own building, in the most glamorous style.

Unveiled at the European Business Aviation Convention and Exhibit in Geneva, this EC145 – a favorite for luxury travel as it is for medevac teams and a myriad other applications – has had its cabin outfitted by the Mercedes-Benz Advanced Design Studio on Italy’s Lake Como. There, design chief Gorden Wagener oversaw the fitment of the chopper’s cabin with all the usual Benz touches, from ambient lighting to wood trim. The cabin has also been arranged in a flexible layout, with seats that can be moved around on rails to seat up to eight passengers or removed to offer extra space for the privileged few.

The project is the first initiative of Mercedes-Benz Style, the automaker’s new product-design division, who we expect will be rolling out a number of licensed designs over the course of the coming years. If you want to live a life like how Bruce Wayne and Tony Stark do, then this is a MUST in your garage.

How to make a toy phone say foul languages

Alright, let’s get straight forward to it. This vide contains VERY NSFW language. A very bright new father played around with his kid’s toy, and made a very cool discovery. Potential bad parenting?

Friends on different WoW servers will soon be able to run dungeons together, but it ain’t free

Friends on different WoW servers will soon be able to run dungeons together, but it ain’t free

Good news for WoW raiders! Soon you will be able to join your nakama on other servers and raid the same dungeon at the same time, together!

World of Warcraft US community manager Nethaera has announced on Blizzard’s official forums that they’re adding a much-requested feature to the Looking For Group tool: cross-realm queuing. Yes, I see some happy faces here!

The feature is now entering testing phase on the current PTR. After the feature is implemented, players will be able to form a party with their Real ID friends, no matter what realm they’re on–although they will still need to be on the same faction. Of course, this will happen on the patch 4.2, although it’s unconfirmed.

However, Nethaera also warns that “certain elements of the cross-realm Real ID party system will be premium-based,” which is a nice way of saying that you’re gonna have to hand over some money to unlock parts of it. Now that’s such a shitty thing to do Blizzard, sucking us dry!

She went on to clarify that only the player sending out the invitations will need to have those premium features. It seems likely that you’ll have to pay the premium fee in order to create a cross-realm party and invite friends, but that it will be free to accept the group invitations of those that have paid.

So, is this worth the shit?

There’s a 10-inch HTC Honeycomb tablet after all

There’s a 10-inch HTC Honeycomb tablet after all

We thought that Google prevented HTC from developing a 10-inch Honeycomb tablet because they’re reluctant to use Nvidia’s Tegra 2, but that’s not the case. It seemed that it’s just late in the game.

Apparently there’s indeed a 10-inch Honeycomb tablet called the HTC Puccini, packed with LTE and powered by Qualcomm’s powerful 1.5GHz MSM8660 SOC. Screen resolution is said to be 1280 x 800 pixels, and the new Sense 3.0 for it will be built above the Android 3.0.1, which makes me wonder if it’ll be coming with Android 3.1 or not, since Android 3.1 is coming in June.
