There’s always a place for renewable and clean power, be it concept of not. But do you mind if your watch can only tell you time when you blow your smelly mouth towards it? That’s going to be a very smelly watch.
“Hey dude, what time it is?”
“Hold, let me blow my watch!”
Right, that’s going to be very awkward. Designer Julien Moise envisioned a device that’s powered by blown air, displaying the time only when you want to see it. It’s a very good idea, and that your watch will never run out of power, as long as you don’t run out of breath. But if you really do, you still have your trusty iPhone to tell you your time.

There are two Kansas City in the States. One is Kansas City, KS and another is Kansas City, Missouri (MO). When Google announced that their ultra-high-speed Internet service will be implemented in Kansas City, KS, the neighbour Kansas City, MO was in sober. But now, both cities will be powered by Google.
Mayor Sly James (cool name dude) of Kansas City, Missouri has held a press conference with Google and Kansas City Power & Light today to announce that his town will be joining in on the bandwidthy fun. Both Kansas Cities can expect to go ultra-high-speed next year, pricing on either side of the invisible line remains elusive.
Congratulations both Kansas Cities.

Apple is the first company to have Thunderbolt ports in their products (MacBook Pro and iMac) and their Thunderbolt ports utilizes the same port as DisplayPort (something similar with USB 2.o and eSATA combo port).
Sony is also a member of the Light Peak partner from Intel’s development program, so it’s not surprising to see Sony also implementing Thunderbolt in their products. However, it seemed that Sony would be taking a slightly different path compared to Apple.
Engadget revealed that the “Ultimate Mobile PC” teased by Sony above is actually the same VAIO Hybrid PC leaked by Sony Insider back in March said to feature an external dock with one USB 3.0 jack, HDMI, Ethernet, AMD Whistler discrete graphics, and a Blu-ray Disc writer. Naturally, the dock attaches to the VAIO’s Thunderbolt jack.
Oddly, Sony is going for a USB connector instead of the Mini DisplayPort used by Apple’s dual-channel 10Gbps Thunderbolt implementation. This is actually not something new. The first prototype interconnects demonstrated by Intel had combined a hybrid USB 3.0 connector with an optical interface and electrical connection to carry power. Sounds like a good idea right? But there’s a bad news.
A statement made by the USB Implementers Forum last summer expressing reservations with Intel’s proposed interconnect:
“USB connectors are not general purpose connectors and are not designed to be used in support of other technology applications or standards or as combo connectors.”
So has Sony worked out a licensing agreement with the USB-IF, or is this news untrustworthy.

Apple has thrown in Intel’s Sandy Bridge processors and Thunderbolt into their MacBook Pro lineup and iMac lineup, so what’s left is the MacBook and MacBook Air. According to DigiTimes, Apple is gearing up now and may receive shipment of the refreshed paper laptops in late May ahead of a June or July launch.
The MacBook Air right now is using 10W and 17W Core 2 Duos, so hopefully Apple will be able to squeeze in the new 17W mobile processors from Intel, which makes them head-to-head with Samsung’s new 9-Series laptops. This is so interesting!
Additionally, DigiTimes says Quanta will continue to assemble Apple’s ultra-portable laptops, with Simplo Technology and Dynapack supplying the battery packs. Fancy a superslim MacBook Air powered by Intel Core i7?

Huhu, let the spit war commence! Tim Cook, the gay Chief Operating Offier called Android tablets a “weird product” and provided no real tablet computing experience.
It happened during Apple’s earning conference call, when Tim Cook is referring to their iPad 2 sales. He mentioned that the company isn’t afraid of the Android tablet market competition that is starting to flood (slowly) the tablet market, “because these products just large smartphones, and is some weird products, cannot offer real tablet computer experience.”
Anyway, I’m abit lazy to go through their quarter reports. But interestingly, Apple claimed that they sold nearly 1.5 billion units of iPads ever since they launched the iOS tablet in April 2010. This of course includes the latest iPad 2 which was launched in March this year.
That’s a lot of pads sold by Apple. But never mind him Google, Tim Cooks’ just a gay, so you shouldn’t heed what a gay said.

Humans are a creative bunch, and I’ve seen people creating very unique stuff out of our most beloved toy, the LEGO. Though… most of them don’t actually work. But not this one. Not this time. Friedemann Wachsmuth has created a Super8 film projector out of Lego (almost entirely), and it works!
His masterpiece projector made of Lego runs at 24 frames per second without mangling celluloid, and only those minor parts are not made of Lego. Lens, lamp, spindles, man… who can actually make those with Lego anyway?
And the point of all these? Well art and geekiness always got no reasons at all. And the best part is, the Lego Super8 film projector also produce the chucky sound of the real deal!

Fancy a smartphone powered by Intel? Well, Intel did showoff a smartphone powered by their prototype SOC, which is a 32nm Medfield chip, quite some time ago, but it never bear any fruits. Intel blamed the delay onto its partner at that time, which is Nokia.
CEO Paul Otellini mentioned about this Medfield-powered smartphone yet again at their annual investor meeting, saying that “you’ll see the first Intel-based phones in the first part of next year,” and that “phones shipping in the market from major players” at that time. He mentioned that the company is currently shopping around for a co-developer for reference design.
This is what Mr. Otellini had to say about Nokia: “Nokia was the wrong partner to have picked, but the time both companies spent working together won’t be wasted entirely.”
Poor Nokia, being shot in the face.

Things seemed to roll out quite fast for Honeycomb. Shortly after Google officially unveiled Android 3.1 at their Google I/O event, Acer and Asus are going to update their Honeycomb products into Android 3.1 very soon. Acer’s Iconia Tab A500 will be selling in the shops with Android 3.1 loaded next month, which means that update over-the-air will be coming very soon. Asus also mentioned that Android 3.1 will be available for their Eee Pad Transformer very shortly, as mentioned on their Italian Facebook page. To recap, 3.1′s benefits include resizable widgets, support for USB peripherals, and new Movies and Books apps, among other perks.
