Bang & Olufsen 85-inch 3DTV priced literally $1,000 per inch

Bang & Olufsen 85-inch 3DTV priced literally $1,000 per inch

3D TV is the in thing these days, and luxury brand Bang & Olufsen is not going to miss out this chance to milk some cash from those filthy rich. Bang & Olufsen today introduced its first 3D TV, the all-new BeoVision 4-85 plasma TV.

Bang & Olufsen claims that this Plasma 3D TV is revolutionary as it provides the best picture experience of any plasma screen on the market with its Full HD picture, razor sharp details, rich-lifelike colors and smooth movement of objects on the screen, or so they say. In addition, the BeoVision 4-85 also features a patented Bang & Olufsen Automatic Color Management technology, which counters the effects of age, as it delivers exceptional picture quality, ensuring the same high level of performance year after year without degradation, which affects plasma TVs.

The Bang & Olufsen BeoVision 4-85 comes equipped with a dedicated centre loudspeaker, the BeoLab 10, which would be the most important thing in this package. This high quality speaker adopts the patented Bang & Olufsen Acoustic Lens technology, which disperses sound at a 180 degree angle throughout an entire area. Additionally, the BeoLab 10 also spreads the sound equally and horizontally from the centre channel, allowing the viewers to get all the nuances from the film dialogue, regardless of where they are sitting in the room.

The new BeoVision 4-85 Plasma TV is available in June 2011 cheaply for $85,000.

Dell to refresh their UltraSharp series monitors very soon

It seemed that Dell might be refreshing their UltraSharp series monitors very soon. The first details about three new Dell UltraSharp monitors have surfaced. The company will launch the 24-inch UltraSharp U2412HM, 23-inch U2312HM and 21.5-inch U2212HM. All models come with IPS panels (so you can say goodbye to lousy TN panels), a 16:9 format and a white LED backlight. The Dell U2412HM is a 24-inch model and is believed to be a 16:9 monitor with a 1920 x 1080 resolution. It is also believed to be a standard color gamut monitor and features a matte coating. The 23-inch U2312HM and 21.5-inch U2212HM feature same full HD IPS-grade panels. Release is expected sometime in Q3 this year for all three models.

WebGL flaw leaves GPU exposed to hackers

WebGL flaw leaves GPU exposed to hackers

Google did mentioned about WebGL in their just-concluded Google I/O 2011 event, but a UK security firm has quickly found a flaw about this new standard. Context has suggested that users should disable the feature because it poses a serious security threat, and the US Computer Emergency Readiness Team (CERT) is encouraging people to heed that advice. That doesn’t sound like good news for Google.

According to Context, a malicious site could pass code directly to a computer’s GPU and trigger a denial of service attack or simply crash the machine. WebGL and the Canvas element can also be used to pull image data from another domain, which could then be used as part of a more elaborate attack.

However Khronos, the group that organizes the standard, defended WebGL by pointing out that there is an extension available to graphics card manufacturers that can detect and protect against DoS attacks, but it did little to satisfy Context — the firm argues that inherent flaws in the design of WebGL make it very difficult to secure, and that WebGL should be safe to use by itself from the very beginning.

However, do note that WebGL won’t run on many Intel and ATI graphics chips (you can check by clicking here), meaning to say that this may affect fewer people than expected. But of course, if you want to be cautious, then you can find instructions for disabling WebGL at the source link below.

World’s first GLONASS-enabled tablet will let US and Russia know where you pee

It’s a rare scene to find devices that support the GLONASS system, which is Russia’s equivalent to the US Government’s GPS. Russian provider Skylink is launching a new Android tablet called the Xpad, which is a 7-inch tablet with support for both GPS and GLONASS, which means that you most probably won’t get lost anymore with this new system.

The rest of the specification for this tablet is quite normal. It’s a 7-inch Froyo tablet running on an 800MHz processor, sporting 512MB of RAM, and a 3.2 megapixel camera. It’s going into Russian shelves for 14,000 Rubles in winter, which is around $500, if you’re interested.

Meet GagaVille, the cash cow for FarmVille

Zynga, the company behind the digital farm of every peasant in this world, loves Lady Gaga and her awesome costume and illuminati trends. Why? Because she’s the golden goose for Zynga!

Zynga has partnered with Lady Gaga to be the latest face on FarmVille. As of May 17th, FarmVille users will be able to take a much-needed break from wasting their lives and visit GagaVille — a neighboring but equally fake farm full of unicorns, crystals and terrible life decisions. There, visitors will be able to listen to unreleased tracks from Gaga’s forthcoming album, Born This Way, which they can also download for “free,” once they’ve dropped $25 of their parents’ hard-earned cash on a Zynga gift card.

The campaign will mercifully come to an end on May 26th, when many will have slit their wrist already.
