Rohm introduces transparent High Efficiency Dye-sensitized Solar Cells for in-house solar Harvesting

Rohm is working since several years in Japan in in-house Energy Harvesting, and finally some great results are showing, where their High Efficiency Dye-sensitized Solar Cells or DSC will be capable to harvest your average room light within a 400 to 800nm wavelength to power low power consuming products ranging from Wall clock, TV Remote, PC mice and other indoors devices.

With a 30% or higher conversion efficiency, these High Efficiency Dye-sensitized Solar Cells that come with a 4x4cm size will have a 1 to 2mW output. But the most interesting parts here is that these DSC are transparent High Efficiency Dye-sensitized Solar Cell and can be used to power low level Zigbee devices made to forward any kind of information to better control your appliances ranging from ACs, Lights and other goodies.
