The Lion has been released for nearly a week now, but you guys are only getting the plain vanilla 10.7 version. However, developers have been pushed forward with a new 10.7.2 update of the Lion. This update doesn’t bring any bug fixes or anything to the operating system overall, but what does it do? Well, this pending second update (build 11C26) is required for testing the operating system with iCloud — a feature notably absent in the public version of the OS released last week. The new System Preferences iCloud module enables granular management of select features, letting you choose which accounts and services to sync. Full iCloud support is coming in the fall with the release of iOS 5, so it’s probably safe to assume that Apple plans to patch some of those bugs in the meantime.

Samsung Electronics has teamed up with Cisco to release the world-first zero client monitor using UPOE (Universal Power over Ethernet) technology, opening a whole new era of virtual desktops and changing the paradigm of the traditional office landscape.
Samsung Electronics showcased the NC220 monitor last week at Cisco Live in Las Vegas. The NC220 monitor with Cisco UPOE technology connects individual monitors via the Ethernet network to a virtualized main server that handles all tasks and applications. The NC220 doesn’t require CPU, memories, hard-disk, even a power outlet, since it gets powers directly from the Ethernet cable with Cisco’s UPOE technology.

Fujitsu has announced the development of a platform technology for mobile devices users that automatically performs downloading, running, and erasing of applications and data, in sequence, required at a particular time and place.
Conventionally, users or IT departments have had to setup and install applications and data directly onto information devices before they could be used. This, however, means time-consuming preparation that has become an issue. Users have needed a system that, without any preparation, automatically delivers applications and data-where and whenever they are required-to information devices, as well as a mechanism for preventing information leaks.
With this new technology, data or applications will be automatically pushed to your devices whenever you are entering a certain area like a conference room, for example where you will receive all needed press material and document instantly on your mobile device.
If needed or perhaps for security reasons, sensible data could also be wipe-out automatically from your devices once you leave the office and immediately reloaded to your devices once back at the office, like a ninja!
Fujitsu says that the new technology frees users from having to set up applications and data in advance enabling the utilization of information devices, when and wherever needed. This saves on time and makes it possible to significantly improve operational efficiency.
