These few years mobile gaming has been invaded by touch screen games that swarm Apple’s iOS platform, and we’re getting plenty of racing games and RPG games on this ‘fastest growing mobile platform’. However, sometimes it just feels awkward to smudge your iPad or iPhone’s screen playing these games, as the feeling just isn’t right, unlike playing with your old school PlayStation controller. Swinging your iPhone from left to right when playing racing games is still acceptable, but sometimes it just feels uncomfortable playing more intense action games by using multitouch. Well, fear not, as we have a solution for you, which is the latest AP Station controller.

The Detroit Auto Show is right around the corner, now just a few weeks away. And with each approaching day, we get a clearer picture of what to expect when the doors open at Motown’s Cobo Hall on January 9.
Here we have our first glimpse at a new concept car which Lexus will be unveiling at the show. All we have to go on so far is the teaser image you see above, but from what we can tell it looks very aggressive, and rather sportscar-like.
Penned by Lexus’ Calty studio in Newport Beach, the concept is said to preview a bolder new design language for the Toyota luxury division.

Over two weeks ago, the internets were abuzz with talk of Apple’s founding documents hitting the auction block. Word was, they’d rake in a sizable $150,000 on the high-end, but it appears even Sotheby’s underestimated the power of paperwork. The three sheets of dead tree in question, signed by Steve Jobs, Steve Wozniak and Ronald Wayne (Apple’s often forgotten third founder) fetched a whopping $1.6 million dollars today. The documents originally belonged to Mr. Wayne, who reportedly received just $2,300 after relinquishing his stocks and agreeing to forfeit claims against the big Apple. According to Bloomberg, Sotheby’s identified the winning bidder as Eduardo Cisneros, CEO of the Cisneros Corp.

Just in time to really annoy your family and friends with holiday greetings, Skype for Android has updated to version 2.6, bringing with it support for sharing photos, videos and other files with your contacts. Being able to quickly transfer pics of your gifts and clips of children tearing into meticulously wrapped presents to people on your buddy list is just the most notable change to the VoIP client. Plenty of other tweaks have taken place, even if they’re primarily under the hood. For one, video quality has improved specifically on devices running NVIDIA’s Tegra 2. A bunch more phones have also been added to the app’s whitelist, including Motorola’s latest super-phones the Droid RAZR and Droid 4. You can head on over to the Android Market now to get the latest Skype update.

It goes without saying that benchmarking something pre-release requires a cavalcade of sodium-chloride, but our curiosity was piqued at the prospect of some Cedar Trail sneak-peeks. Netbook Live has been at it again, pitting a 1.6GHz Atom N2600-touting ASUS Eee PC X101CH, against machines sporting 1.66GHz Atom N570 (ASUS 1015PX) and 1.0 GHz AMD C-50 (ASUS 1015B and Tosh NB550D) chips. The initial reports suggest that the 32nm-based N2600 is a touch behind the N570 in general CPU terms, but forges confidently ahead when it comes to graphics. The C-50 showed mixed results in CPU tests, with the N2600 falling behind on graphics this time round. The take-away being if you need more CPU oomph go for the meatier 1.83 GHz N2800. Is Apple about to open that $84 billion war chest to make another one of its traditional flash-memory supply-chain land-grabs? Rumors from Reuters suggest it’s planning to snap up Israeli outfit Anobit for $400 or $500 million. The outfit specializes in signal processing for the memory chips, increasing volume and performance, which you’ll already find bolted onto the Samsung and Hynix flash drives inside the iPhone 4S. The initial reports suggested that Anobit had production facilities, but it’s since been clarified that the company is a fabless designer in the same vein as P.A. Semi and Intrinsity. It seems a logical move from a company who probably see traditional HDDs as an evil to be eradicated from its simplistic designs.

The world’s most popular computer game will become live attractions for children next year when the first Angry Birds playgrounds appear in Finland.
The developer of the Angry Birds app, found on mobile devices such as iPhones and Tablet computers, said that two Finnish towns will get the first playgrounds kitted out with equipment inspired by the game’s characters as it signed a global deal with playground equipment manufacturer Lappset.
Mobile gaming firm Rovio, which plans to go public within a few years, said last month its hit game had reached a record 500 million downloads less than two years after its launch.
Unlike most mobile game crazes,Angry Birds , in which players use a slingshot to attack pigs who steal the birds’ eggs, has stayed atop the charts since it was launched for Apple’s iPhone in 2009.
Rovio is expanding the brand across traditional merchandising, to items such as toys and baby products, and is taking the birds to the big screen with film studios.
Lappset will manufacture play and activity equipment and ready-made playgrounds or activity parks inspired by the Angry Birds characters.
“The playgrounds fit perfectly into the Angry Birds world and our way of thinking,” Rovio marketing chief Peter Vesterbacka said in a statement.
The Angry Birds playground product range features animal spring riders, swings, sandpits and a range of climbing towers with slides, and a unique Angry Birds arcade game.
