Designer Gerard Moline
has come up with a USB flash drive concept called the USB Lab. It is shape like a cross.

This double functionality of an object symbolizes the adaptation to the social and cultural changes in the Information Age.

Another good point, since it is a holy item, thou shall not keep any evil data inside. Amen.

LA Design Challenge Entry: MMR25, Rally Racer Of The Future

September 29th, 2008

Every year, the LA Auto Show will pick the best of the best of designers to come out with some futuristic and creative automotive concept. Last year was about “green” this year the topic is about “2025 race car”, yeah, how the 2025 race car will look like. The designers there must have the really futuristic brain to design.

Here’s one of the best, called the MMR25 Rally Racer, it’s a Mitsubishi concept. Mitsubishi’s MMR25 is an all-electric race car powered by a revolutionary drivetrain. The forward-looking high output powertrain is comprised of four lightweight, high-efficiency, in-wheel electric motors whose output is boosted with the help of eight supplemental motors. The batteries are next generation units which are more powerful, fully recycle and capable of running up to 1,000 miles on a single charge. The battery pack mounted at the center and each side of the vehicle and they have positioned it low to the ground to give the car more stability and a lower center of gravity. September 26th, 2008

This is the portable fishbowl concept by Michal Shabtiali. I think that it will be useful when you getting some fish from the shop. I experienced a few times of plastic bag water leaking but managed to reached home before the water goes off.

With this fishbowl, it looks a lot easier for keep your fish or carrying your fish out, anyway, that’s the main purpose.

Single Seat Helicopter designed by Igarashi Design

September 26th, 2008

Hmmm… this single seat helicopter looks interesting. It is designed by Igarashi Design. It has everything that gives the private flight a higher reliability. Training is needed before you fly this helicopter but wondering how the single seat helicopter training works.

Maybe you can start with the remote control helicopter first then with the standard helictopter with trainer beside you and when you get familiar with the standard one then I think you won’t problem of flying the single seat heli.

Alright back to the topic, the design looks a bit robotic and it is very small compared to other helicopter. There’s no door I see, raining time will be a big headache. But no stress, as this is just a design.
