Good news to all Sony AVCHD Handycam users, you don’t have to waste time connecting your camcorder to your PC and burn it to CD. You can now directly burn to DVD using the Sony new released VRD-MC5. It is a DVD burner connects directly to their AVCHD HD camcorders via USB. It also works with SR5, HDR-SR7, HDR-SR8, and HDR-CX7 Handycam. Available in Japan this August 10th for $247.

Sanyo has released a new camcorder which claimed as the world’s first waterproof camcorder the Xactic E1. It can withstand a depth level up to 5 feet for 30 minutes. Video will be recorded in H.264/MPEG format onto an SD or SDHC memory card directly. You can also capture a 6-megapixels still image with this camcorder and it features anti-shake digital image stabilizer. The Sanyo Xactic E1 will be ship out this June. More details after the jump.

The Iconix HD-RH1 claimed to be the smallest pro-quality HD video camera in the market. It measures 1.32″ x 1.50″ x 1.92″ and weighs only 2.5 oz. Each purchase of this will comes with a fibre-optic output and the RCP-160 control panel. You can choose and put on half a dozen of the RH1 cameras. Film can be saved in 35 different formats and frame rates include – 1080p, 1080sf, 1080i, 720p to NTSC and PAL. The updated version on Iconix HD-RH1 will be available this coming June.

This is not a flash drive or card reader it is the new Holide Digital Video Recorder and camera. Yup it is a Digital Video recorder about flash drive size allows you to bring it around in your pocket. This video recorder only has 2MB of built-in memory, but that is not a problem because you can expand it with an SD or MMC memory card. Of course no high quality video with this tiny device, the video is captured in 12fps at VGA quality. Unfortunately you can only get this in bulks of 300.

Size; it measures 3.1 x 4.7 x 1.4in and weighs in at 8.3 ounces. Verdict; The pricey Sanyo VPC-HD1 has lower photographic quality than a dedicated 5-megapixel still camera, however it is a unique product that offers features that can’t be found elsewhere. Build quality, handling and performance are good, and it is the closest thing yet to a successful hybrid still/video camera.
