G-Drive trying hard to court Apple fans

We don’t find many Apple-themed products out there, and when we come by one, we all gaze in amazement. The G-DRIVE mini hard drive is the perfect storage solutions for people on the go, and is designed similarly like the Mac Pro. Weighing at less than 9 oz., the storage device provides up to 500GB of storage space to store your important documents, MP3s, digital video and digital photo files. What’s more, the system can also withstand up to 1000 G’s of shock to ensure your data is protected against the bumps and bruises encountered on the road. Talk about extreme measures on the design. The 500GB G-DRIVE mini hard drive (7200RPM) is priced at $169.99, and should look rather handsome beside your Mac Pro or iMac.

Sony’s new DR-GA500 will let you shoot your enemy down before he does

Sony’s new DR-GA500 will let you shoot your enemy down before he does

It’s rare to see Sony venturing into gaming gears even though the company is famous for their PlayStation consoles. Sony has thrown in a new ‘gaming’ headphone into the buzzling lucrative market of gaming gears. How to outdo and outsell others? Well, Sony says that their new DR-GA500 headphones have “7.1 channel digital surround sound for first person shooters.” But wait, don’t they all say that? Meh!

I think Sony should instead market their new headphone as a Tron-cosplaying headphone, all thanks to the cool looking design. Actually, besides the gimmicky “virtual 7.1 channel digital surround sound”, the headphones have an external audio processor that supports Dolby Pro Logic IIx and simulates sound immersion in game environments with only two 40mm drivers. It also comes with a boom mic to chat. For now, it’s Europe only, sadly. Aw you, you luckily Brits.

New Bose In-Ear Headphones for your new iPhone or Android

School’s starting again boys and girls. Summer’s ending, so it’s time to get some of your gears ready for school. How about a premium IEM for your iPod, or iPhone, or Android? Sounds like a good idea! Audio equipment maker Bose will have some new in-ear headphones available on at the end of the month: The IE2, the MIE2, and the MIE2i. The latter two headphones are designed specifically for mobile phones — in-line microphones and all. Great for all you kids that keep on ‘txtin n listen 2 mp3 while da teacher iz teachin in claz o while ur otw hom’.

The IE2 and MIE2 will be available on August 23rd for $100 and $30 respectively while the MIE2i will be available in October for $130. Well maybe not a fairly reasonable price for you kids. Might need to ‘eco’ for a month or two. But since you can easily afford an ‘ipong’ easily, this shouldn’t be a problem for you. Meh!

SplitFish preparing to announce three new beasts for your PS3, PC and Mac in Gamescon.

SplitFish preparing to announce three new beasts for your PS3, PC and Mac in Gamescon.

SplitFish might not be as famous as those big shots like SteelSeries, Razer, and Roccat, but it sure has some reputation of its own. SplitFish has announced that its latest FragFX Shark controller for the PS3, PC and Mac will be officially making its debut over at Gamescon later this month. Not much information is revealed for these new gears, other than being “ecology-friendly”, which SplitFish says is courtesy of their new power-saving technologies that’ll let you game for 50 hours from a single AA battery. Besides the Shark controller, there’s also the Piranha and Barracuda which are also PS3 controllers. Not the best looking mouse out there actually, but they sounds awfully like another snake brand.

“I love being able to use a MOUSE for FPS on any platform,” commented Dozier. “Demonstrating SPLITFISH’s intelligent, high performance gear for playing FPS on game consoles versus standard type controllers, gives me an opportunity to show why mouse gaming on a console for me is hands down no brainer. The FRAGFX SHARK is the new standard for what console FPS gaming should be.”

Sony to replace their Reader and might have 3G too

Sony is rumoured to be preparing on the launch of their next Reader duo, which will replace their current line-up. Something along the name of PRS-350 and PRS-650, the new models will boast E Ink displays and be thinner and slightly longer compared to the existing models. Dimension wise, their thickness is reported to be less than 10mm, while the 650 will boast a 6-inch display and the 350 a 5-inch panel. The 650 will receive a memory jump to 2GB besides 3G and Wi-Fi support, but it is unknown whether the 350 will follow suite. Software wise, the Reader UI might have a facelift of some kind, maybe a slightly small remodelling or makeup. Price for both of the Readers isn’t known yet as of now.

USB Anion Air Purifier gives you fresh air while you game

I believe many of the boys’ room or gaming room would be filled with those smelly sweaty accent flocking around like toxic gas. If you personally hate it, then here’s a geeky way to solve it. The USB Anion Air Purifier from Brando is powered by your computer’s USB port. The device claims to be able to purify air in a 20sqm area by emitting healthy negative ions into the air. These ions will apparently attach themselves to air molecules and any impure particles in the air to negatively charge them, purifying the air. Like how your air-conditioner’s ionizer works. You can buy the USB Anion Air Purifier for just $19 each. A very reasonable way to breath in healthy air while seeking for your Starcraft 2 achievements.
