There is no replacement for displacement, whether you’re on the road, in the clouds or bursting across wide open water at 180 mph. That’s exactly what you could do if you had a cool $1.7 million laying around and felt like making the 2012 ZR48 MTI your very own. The boat features a pair of 1,350-horsepower turbocharged Mercury Marine V8 engines strapped into a carbon fiber hull. That’s all run-of-the-mill tech for the superboat crowd, but what sets this craft apart from the fleet is its complete Chevrolet Corvette interior.

Why transplant the worst part of one of the best performance buys in the automotive market into your million-dollar boat? Probably because you can. That, and odds are you won’t be relaxed enough to look anywhere but down the bow when this machine is at wide open throttle. The ZR48 MTI features seating for six and a spiffy custom trailer designed to haul the craft on its side (the machine is too wide to be transported right-side up).

Last time, you’ll need to put your car keys into the door’s lock in order to open your car doors. Then, men got lazy, and invented remote alarm to unlock your car with a single button. They say it’s for safety. Well, should be. But then men got even lazier, and don’t want to press that GREEN button. So, they made keyless entry. Walk near your car, and it’s unlocked. Leave your car, and it’s locked. They say it’s good, because you don’t have to worry whether you’ve locked your car or not. Safety reasons too. But now, they’re getting even way crazier. But this time, it’s for the fashion sense. You know, doing it the James Bond way. But you can only do it if you own an Aston Martin DB9, and have some extra cash lying around too. Make that $25k extra to spare.

Following the transponder wristwatches unveiled for the DBS and Rapide, Swiss watchmaker Jaeger-LeCoultre has now announced the AMVOX2 DB9 Transponder. It features a touch-sensitive sapphire crystal face: touch the glass where it says “open” and it unlocks the doors. Press where it says “close” and it locks ‘em. Press both at the same time and the doors stay locked, but it will help you find your car by turning on the headlamps. Nice trick, all enabled by a micro-transmitter built in to the titanium timepiece. Cool right? Now you have yet another reason to buy an Aston.

Well, if you think Oakley’s $150 3D shades are something, wait till your girlfriend asks you for this. Yes, buying your own 3D glasses and bring them to the cinema is getting into the trend nowadays, but if the 3D glass will cost you $225, I think you should consider that again, and again. Unless you really don’t want to look like those mosquito-eyed-beings in the cinema, like the rest of the crowd. Then get this Gucci 3D glass. You can’t go wrong with them, as they’re ‘optically correct’ Real D frames. With its latest design and no plastic wraparounds, you’ll be the absolutely most fashionable person in a crowded dark room, where nobody will be looking at you. Look for these to hit your local US Gucci boutique. Or, you might want to wait for Louis Vuitton’s edition. But at least wearing this will make you look like Mr Smith, or Mrs Smith.

What can you tell of a person who spends 5 figures on a normal QWERTY phone? Yes, he should have a few Bentley and Lambo in his garage. Perhaps one of those limited edition Veyron too. And he hardly drives them, as he should be flying around the world nearly every week in his own private jet.

That’s why Vertu, the world’s swelly famous and exotic boutique, is using Symbian for their Vertu Constellation Quest. Well, you won’t care about what OS is it running when you can afford a cool €19,500 including VAT (about $27,000) for this ‘smartphone’. All you care is that it’s slightly gold-plated.

And they’re obviously massively covered with diamonds. Surely something the filthy rich would want. I mean, if you’re THAT rich, do you want to have the same phone as the rest of the millions of people in this world? Not really. So, you look for Stuart Hughes and he customizes your iPhone 4 into the “world’s most expensive phone”. That’s the case for the Australian client. Hughes made two identical models for him (or her) and each handset includes over 500 diamonds and total of over 100 karats. Since it’s so special (and bloody hell expensive) it also comes with its own special granite box. Well, hopefully this diamond crafted iPhone 4 will solve the antenna issue too. How much? Yes, everyone wanted to ask, because they can’t afford. Well, it’s £5 million, which is around USD8 million. How many normal iPhone 4 can you get with that amount of money?

Have you ever thought about how advance your life would be, and so does the rest of your world, when you wake up and brush your teeth while looking at the latest news and weather on your mirror? Won’t your mirror in your bathroom look like a mirror-finish monitor with lots of widgets? Well not many, perhaps two or three widgets, but that’s still very futuristic. But it’s already a present technology, with EXISTING product that is exactly like that, and they’re in Hong Kong!

It’s called the Cybertecture Mirror, and is set to start taking pre-orders in December, and will (hopefully) be shipped by the middle of next year. The brainchild of one James Law, this reflective renegade measures 800 x 500 x 50mm, comes with stereo speakers totalling 10W of power output, WiFi, IP41 waterproofing, and fog-resistant glass. Before you ask if it runs Android, both the display and operating system are said to be proprietary, with the latter offering access to messaging, weather, calendar, and apps, such as an included fitness-tracking utility. Wen Wei Po reports a 60,000 HKD ($7,733) launch price and a very ambitious expectation that two million Mirrors will be sold over the first three years. Hell yeah, I’d love to have one! Can somebody buy me one, please?

Vertu has been putting out some odd and luxurious (and bloody hell expensive) phones once in a while. But now, they’re ready to add yet another working machine (or very business-like phone) into their lucrative phones lineup. It’s a full QWERTY keyboard phone, something like your BlackBerry Bold 9700, but with some luxury touches.

The company has started sending out emails teasing a new Constellation Quest model, and while you can’t make much either from the included picture or from the Flash-based teaser site you’re directed to, it’s pretty obvious there’s QWERTY involved. Needless to say, we’re confident it’ll carry on the Vertu tradition of being overpriced and under-capable, but let’s be honest: does a billionaire have the time to figure out how to use a smartphone anyhow? Nope, he’s busy asking his friends about the next golf session. You won’t be seeing him snapping a photo anyway, so I won’t be surprised if Vertu’s throwing in a 2-Megapixel camera for the lulz.

So you think Porsche only does cars? Nope, they also dig kitchens, maybe just to impress the ladies. Well at least they’re trying to court into five families’ kitchen this year. But I think it’s more like “five lucky families”.

The German automaker’s lifestyle accessory division, Porsche Design, somehow went and design something besides cars. But still, it’s somehow related to cars anyway. They’ve built something along the line of ‘world’s costliest advent calendar’. Yes a very luxurious advent calendar. Well instead of an array of tasty chocolates stashed in a cardboard calendar, the company has built an aluminium tower nearly six-feet tall. There are unique Porsche Design gifts designed to correspond with each day in the run up to Christmas, including niceties like a P’6910 mechanical stopwatch, a full P’7340 kitchen and, probably most impressively, an RFF28 “motor yacht” with a single 525-horsepower Mercury engine. Quite how they get the last two items to fit in the tower, I’m not entirely sure. Fancy an engine in your kitchen? Don’t worry if you think you’ll be cooking your stuff using a V8 engine like how Jeremy Clarkson does it. You won’t. It’s still a calendar.

The rest of the days are marked by goodies like Porsche Design cuff links, pens and sunglasses dipped in 18-karat yellow gold. And the price for all of this finery? A cool one $1 million, but with only five of the calendars being created, I guess it’d be too late for you to make your order. But please Porsche, don’t do this. Go back to the drawing board please. All the Porsche cars on the road looked exactly the same.

Sometimes a wallet can show your exclusivity from the common crowds. Louis Vuitton and Coach for example. But you know you’ve gone too much, way too much ahead when you need your finger prints to open your wallet and get some notes for that juice in the vending machine.

Here’s a wallet made of carbon fiber billfold, which will only open with your fingerprint, and alert you when it lost Bluetooth contact with your cellphone. Makes me wonder whether this will eventually drain your iPhone’s battery down from one-day-per-charge to half-day-per-charge? The iWallet (apparently not from Steve Jobs) comes in a variety of colors, including a fiber glass ($400) or lightweight carbon fiber ($600) case – perhaps the reason it’s so expensive is because it’s made in the USA instead of China. Let me guess, if they add in a few “LV” logos, it’ll hit sky high of a few grand instead of few hundred bucks.

Tag Heuer will surely ring a bell as the famous watch manufacturer. Famous for their gorgeous watches, Tag Heuer also makes fancy eyewear. Their new Squadra night vision glasses now join the luxury lineup eyewear.

Designed with endurance race in mind, their Squadra glass is used by team Peugeot during this year’s Le Mans Endurance Race. With titanium arms, high contrast lenses, they assisted the Peugeot team into the champion stand by improving their drivers’ night vision.

But this does not mean the Squadra should only be used in the helmet. It sure will boost the manliness of those alpha races. With -0.25 diopter ophthalmic lenses and oleophobic, anti-reflective treatment.

The Squadra makes it easier for your eyeballs to see at night, which is especially useful for international super spies and Le Mans-winning racecar drivers, but still at least sort of useful for regular people like you and me, too. If you have the alpha look and aura, head over to choose one of the four models available, and prepare $450 while you’re on the way there. This will surely increase your alpha points by over nine thousand.
