Nokia N8

Nokia has announced its new Symbian ^3 powered phone, the Nokia N8. It comes with a 12.0-megapixel with Xenon Flash. Priced at 370 Euros and choose from dark grey, silver white, green, blue and orange. According to the Nokia, the xenon flash on the N8 is 30% smaller compare to the usual one but yet it is capable of producing the similar level of flash power. The auto focusing speed has also been improved as well as a fast 150 milliseconds latency in the shutter release. Besides shooting a 12 megapixel still image, it is capable of recording 720p HD video and can be player on your HDTV via its HDMI connector. Hmm…it looks a bit like the Sony Ericsson Aino. LG Optimus

LG is launching its new Android smartphone in UK this Labor Day, the LG Optimus (GT450). Running on Android OS 1.6 and comes with a 3-inch resistive touch screen (320 x 480), a 3-megapixel camera, WiFi, Bluetooth, GPS and a microSD card slot. It also has the SN Manager (Social Network) that allows you to stay connect with their Facebook, Twitter and Bebo accounts. TMN Green SIM Cards

Portuguese carrier TMN is introducing world’s first recycled paper SIM card. These green SIM cards will be released with Samsung’s solar-charging Blue Earth handset. The Blue Earth package is available for €239 ($318). The paper SIM with TMN’s other devices is not available yet.

Nokia E5, Nokia C3 and Nokia C6

Nokia has announced three phones today, the Nokia E5, C3, C6 (left to right). All three are running on Symbian platform and support multiple email accounts, IM communities and social networks.

Nokia C3 is the series’ first QWERTY messaging phone. It is pre-installed with Nokia Ovi Mail and Ovi chat with social networking shortcut at the home screen. You view, comment, update status and share pictures at your favorite social networks like Facebook and Twitter. The C3 features built-in Wifi, 2.0-megapixel camera, 2.4-inch display and a microSD memory expansion slot. The C3 will be available this quarter at 90 euro.

The Nokia C6 is a smartphone that comes with both 3.2-inch touch screen and slide QWERTY keypad. It has better camera in 5.0-megapixel resolution. This will go for 220 eruo.

Nokia has put in a new phone in the Eseries, the E5. With business feature, the E5 can also be used for social networking and multimedia site. It has built-in WiFi, A-GPS, HSPA, bluetooth and 5 megapixel camera. Available in Q3 for 180 euro.

au KDDI has released the Toshiba K01, a Windows Mobile phone that will be known as IS02 in Japan. The handset will be one of the thinnest WinMo phones for au. It is running on Microsoft Windows Mobile 6.5.3 OS, powered by powerful 1GHz Snapdragon processor and has a sliding QWERTY keyboard, 3G, a 4.1-inch AMOLED capacitive touchscreen with customized NX! UI, a 384MB/512MB RAM/ROM, a 3.2MP camera, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth and a business card reader.
