Kauppalehti, a Finnish newspaper was given some statement by a person name Tapani Kaskinen. Now, this Mr Kaskinen is not some anybody, but Nokia’s Senior Comms Manager. Therefore, his words do command some strong truth when it comes to Nokia’s phones. The whole article is in Finnish, and might have some errors while going through the translation maniac’s brain. But what’s important, and can’t be wrong, is the statement “will begin shipping in 30th September.” Well, you’ll Nokia lunatic fans will be able to get your hands on this long awaited N-series phone right about October. Shall I wake you up when September ends?

BlackBerry’s upcoming replacement for the Bold 9700 seemed to have surfaced yet again, but this time in the face of snow white. As a fresh reminder, it’s presumably equipped with a new 5-Megapixel camera, 512MB of RAM instead of 256MB, and of kush the ‘awsm’ BlackBerry 6 OS. Still no indication of a release date, but Phone Arena is predicting a launch date in the October.

Nokia might be throwing more Symbian^3 smartphones into the market sooner than we thought. After sneakily making an awkward early appearance on Nokia’s Dutch online storefront, Mobile Geek Inc has since dug even more info out in regards to it. No QWERTY, which in turns is a full fledge touchscreen like the Nokia 5800, instead of the C6-oo slider that it’ll replace. There’s 8-Megapixel camera with dual Xenon flash, and the new Symbian^3 OS. Perhaps we will see it’s unveiling in Nokia World 2010 which will arrive on the 14th September in London.

Corning, the maker of Gorilla Glass, has announced that the Samsung Galaxy will employ the alkali-aluminosilicate glass shield. The glass is similar to the “helicopter windshield” Retina stuff Apple uses on their iPhone 4, which was rumoured to be Gorilla Glass at one point, and while neither tech is impervious to shattering, they certainly can take a beating.

If ‘removing-the-back-cover-take-out-the-battery-plung-in-another-push-back-back-cover’ gets too complicated for some users when their Samsung Galaxy S (or any of the wide varieties) gets dry up, Samsung has yet another accessory for you. The Samsung Galaxy S Power Pack. This power pack will sincerely allow additional 8.5 hours of talk time when you run out of juice while gossiping with your BFFs. Yeah, it’s such an annoyance to remove the battery when you’re on the phone. That’s why this power pack is ‘so’ convenient. What’s more, you’re getting an additional GPS radio. Geddit? Additional GPS radio! Woohoo! Someone in Samsung must’ve smoked too much weeds.

Here’s Nokia’s new simpleton phone with the standard 16-button keypad and a nice 2.4-inch QVGA touchscreen. Er… wait, what? Yeah, this simple phone has touchscreen! Nokia has done what traditionally not done, by putting touchscreen onto the budget phone. But of kush, that’s a resistive panel there, so don’t expect an ‘iPhone-like’ experience. Read more…

It seemed that the Motorola Charm will be hitting shelves next Wednesday (August 25th) with a price of $74.99 on contract. The Motorola Charm is a cute little portrait QWERTY Android device with a Kodak-branded 3 megapixel cam and landscape display, which we seldom see from Android-base phones. Since most Android phones are fully touchscreen, this will be a great contender to RIM’s hugely successful BlackBerry with QWERTY keyboards.

Nokia World might be coming next month, but it seemed that some people had been getting early access to what seemed to be a new model that Nokia would be launching in their event. The C7 has been spinning around the web for quite some time now, but Nokia has never made any statement regarding this 3.5-inch touchscreen beauty. But when a tech web from China called zol.com.cn published a ‘press-quality’ photo shot next to a Chivas Regal nip, it’s hard not to think that this gadget here is the real deal.
The C7 is Nokia’s smartphone running on their new Symbian^3 OS, and of kush there’s the 3.5-inch capacitive touchscreen display. Besides that, it has an 8-Megapixel camera sans Carl Zeiss, dual ELD flash, and a somewhat stingy 1,200 mAH battery to match its slim and sexy body. Well, just a month’s time to wait, so why not?

iFixit has again do what they do best, that is to tear down smartphones and things alike. Since the Dell Streak has been launched only recently, they seemed to be quick on their hands to get it raped. iFixit reports that the Streak is extremely easy to disassemble, and inside they found a Qualcomm QSD8250 Snapdragon CPU, and cameras which they report are “similar” to those found inside the iPhone 4. Photonic sensors? Interesting. There’s nothing earth-shattering here, though iFixit has taken the Dell Streak teardown as an opportunity to debut their new “fixability” rating – and you’ll be happy to know that this baby has scored an 8 out of 10. Hit up the source for the full rundown.

Nokia is now ready to put your name in the list, and ship one unit of N8 smartphone to you at the end of September. Sadly that’s the only thing coming in the box. No fancy and free Bluetooth headsets or whatever, only the manuals and some cables, plus the adapter.
